The Segway tour starts on the Promenade des Anglais, an agreeable walkway along the Mediterranean Sea.
During a training session with your guide, you will learn the basics of riding your personal transporter. Then, it’s time to set off on your exploration of one of France’s most beautiful cities.
Your guide will share anecdotes about Nice’s history and suggest things to see and do later as you stroll past shops, museums and restaurants on your way to the Cours Saleya, an open-air marketplace with fragrant flowers and fresh local foods.
Then, glide through the refreshing narrow allays of the old town and visit Place Rosetti, a lively square in Old Town with plenty of cafes and people-watching opportunities. Your guide will be happy to take photos of you on your Segway during your stops.

After picking you up from your hotel between 9:15 am and 9:30 am, we will head towards Champagne by a minivan. Along the way, your guide will tell you about the history of the Champagne region and amuse you with with interesting facts.
The tour starts in Epernay with a trip to Moët and Chandon which holds a royal warrant to supply champagne to Kings and Queens as well as refined estates of families working in the business of wine-making for centuries. At Moët and Chandon, you will have a chance to taste one glass of Moët Impérial and one glass of Rosé Impérial following the visit to the cellars for a very informative tour that lets you see the entire process of winemaking.
Next up, you head toward place Paul-Etienne Saint-Germain where the Lagneau family has been producing champagne during centuries. Made using excellent varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Grands Crus, their champagne is swept off the shelves by regular clientele. You will meet the owners, hear about their history, explore the estate and taste their exclusive drinks.
After two tastings, we will proceed to Dom Caudron – a collective of more than 80 farmers who work hard every year to give you an amazing selection of champagnes designed for those special moments. At Dom Caudron, you will see champagne being made, right from pruning the grape vine to the grape pressing. You also get to taste local dishes paired with four types of champagne.

Follow in Van Gogh's footsteps and walk through picturesque Provencal landscapes in the Alpilles. In 1888 Van Gogh left Paris for Arles in Provence where, after a 16-hour train journey, he started the most ambitious and productive period of his life. He worked under luminescent skies and the bleaching Provencal Sun painting the fields, drawbridges, cypress trees, cafes, local folk and ancient Abbey Ruins. Here he exclaimed ‘My God! If only I had known of this country when I was 25, instead of coming here at 35!’ Living at Arles, his technique modified as he began to use the swirling brush strokes and intense colours that you see in works like ‘Bedroom at Arles’ (1888), and ‘Starry Night’ (1889). He seemed to imbue visible phenomena with vitality. In his enthusiasm he encouraged the painter Paul Gauguin to join him, but within weeks they began to have violent disagreements, culminating in a quarrel in which van Gogh threatened Gauguin with a razor. It was that night, in deep remorse, Van Gogh famously cut off part of his own ear. This walk traces his footsteps through some of the places that he painted and would have known well. More specifically you will be strolling in Les Alpilles, a small massif standing out as its white peaks rise apparently sheer from the plain of the Rhône valley, its slopes covered in vineyards along with olive and almond trees. Along paths dotted with cypress trees and lone chapels. Here you will discover the many images of the Alpilles' landscapes he painted from St-Rémy to the Baux-de-Provence and onto Arles. We are confident that you will have a better time of it than Van Gogh did; for a time he was in a hospital at Arles, he then spent a year in the nearby asylum of Saint-Rémy, working between repeated spells of madness. Just after completing his ominous Crows in the Wheat fields (1890), he shot himself on July 27, 1890, and died two days later.

This tour covered all of the highlights of Traditional European - and more! The Tour Director was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and made everyone feel at home - like one big family! He managed to get us into attractions that we would normally only have passed, like Notre Dame and St Peter's Basilica. Of course, we had to agree to get up early and be on time, but it was well worth the effort. And his use of the mirror ball put everyone in a real party mood after a very special Tuscan dinner.

This was a superb trip run by our French tour leader Max and his very experienced and helpful driver, Ken. We stayed in the most charming villages and had some spare time to explore them which was even better. We saw a huge variety of sites - including fabulous gardens, fascinating military sites and amazing historical buildings. The included dinners were great with the highlight being a gourmet meal in Chinon.

The trip is extremely packed with amazing sites and experiences . It’s a trip to not miss, but be prepared to be on the go. With that being said, it was a good balance of site seeing and having free time if you choose to skip an excursion. I’d highly recommend it!! I think our guide was a definite plus. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and a waking encyclopedia. Between him and our driver things went like clockwork.
