We saw so much of France. We were busy every minute of the day, not much time to relax. But we took the trip to see the country and that we did.

A fabulous week exploring the Chamonix valleys, mountains and settlements, further enhanced by blue skies, sunshine and the occasional dramatic electric storms rolling in over Mont Blanc! An amazing location. Great choice of daily routes of similar lengths over rocky mountain terrain, following refreshing riverside trails and through much- welcomed shady woodland. The group was a fantastic friendly company of walkers with considerable hiking experience, very friendly, full of personalities and with a great sense of humour. Our hotel room overlooked the Mont Blanc range which was an amazing surprise, staff were friendly and very helpful. Our Leader / Guide Kris was excellent - confident, knowlegeable and experienced, with a genuine affection for the local environment, and with a very approachable and relaxed manner. He had sorted train and bus passes for the duration of the week, which meant that there were no logistical nightmares when travelling around, and organised bookings at a local restaraunt for evenings when the group wasn't eating at the hotel. Many Thanks for everything Kris :). A thoroughly enjoyable week not just for the physical rewards of excercise, but also for the lively company and opportunity to learn about local history, culture and the natural environment. It is lovely to visit the country area as it is not as busy as the city although there are still tourist it is not a place you need to rush. I do think that you need to spend at least 2 full days to see some of the villages.

Our trip exceeded our expectations. Not only did we see all the major sites, there was a great balance of free time as well. Our guide Johnathon, was Spectacular! He made everything run smoothly, took great personal care in everyone's experience, and his own personal touches and stories made the trip Unforgettable! Thank you Johnathon!! You are forever cemented in my mind and heart alongside wonderful Paris!

Our guide Kris made the holiday very enjoyable. He was friendly., relaxed, knowledgeable and capable. I felt very safe and confident under his guidance. He taught me how to use walking poles going downhill which helped me greatly.

A great week of relatively easy cycling, mix of roads and the Loire à velo cycle track. Visited several Chateaux, my favourites were Chenonceau and Cheverny. The Clos Luce, home of Leonardo da Vinci at Amboise is well worth a visit. We were a fairly international group, who all got along well. The tour leader, Erwin, worked tirelessly to ensure we all had a good time. The bikes were all more or less new this year Highlights included a wine tasting and light lunch at a small picturesque vineyard at Montlouis, more wine tasting at Cheverny from a selection of about 70 wines. The gardens of Chateau Villandry. And the sun shone all week!
