Culture, food, romance, art, and a certain je ne sais quoi, France is a traveler’s dream and an ideal country for a tailor-made tour. From the countryside charm of Provence to the surreal grandeur of Versailles, where lavish complexes and Byzantine architecture will take you back to the heydays of the French Revolution, while the Loire Valley is reminiscent of a fairy-tale. Take in the characteristic beauty of Paris during a boat trip down the River Seine and see the city’s stunning skyline during sunset.
If you want to experience them all, try a customized trip to France with our local travel expert.
When to go to France
France is blessed with moderate weather for most of the year, but in our opinion, the ideal time to visit France is during spring (from April to June) or autumn (between October and November) when there is less crowd and prices for accommodations and the overall trips are cheaper. For those looking to hit the slopes in the French Alps, visiting France during winter will bring much joy. Learn more.
How long to stay in France
There will always be something left to see in France regardless of how long you decide to stay. 7 days in France, or even better, a ten-day trip, to cover major areas and highlights. This is enough to take in the cities that have hosted some of the greatest artists in the world, from Van Gogh to Picasso, as well as the picturesque rural landscapes of Beaune and Annecy. Must-visit destinations in France
In addition to the sites mentioned above, we recommend Paris–of course–with its grand artistic history and famous landmarks ( Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, just to name a few), the city is guaranteed to make you fall head over heels in love with it.
Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy is also a must-visit and will leave you spellbound, and to savor charming villages and fragrant fields of lavender, add Luberon to your itinerary. We also recommend heading south to the mesmerizing deep-blue waters of the French Riviera and the white sand beaches of Corsica. And amid all the wandering, do not forget to drop in at a French cafe for some delightful luncheons and pastries.
