Sujan took us to Annapurna base camp and he was a fantastic guide. Our tour leader truly made this trip to Annapurna Base Camp unforgettable. From the very start, he was incredibly helpful - always making sure everyone felt comfortable, informed, and supported throughout the journey. His organisation and attention to detail meant everything ran smoothly, even in challenging conditions. He brought a great energy to the group, keeping spirits high on long trekking days and creating a great sense of camaraderie among everyone. He was approachable, patient, and always happy to answer questions or share his knowledge about the local culture and mountains. His experience and calm leadership gave us real confidence, especially at higher altitudes, and it was clear he genuinely cared about everyone’s wellbeing. Thanks to him, the whole experience felt safe, enjoyable, and incredibly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and he was a huge part of what made this trip so memorable. He bent over backwards to ensure everyone was equally valued. He offered his arm to our slowest walker while arranging an extra trip for the more energetic of us. He even introduced us to a new card game.

Annapurna base camp is an astonishing place - truly inspiring. Our leader was good , the route was ‘there & back’ , walking was challenging , our group dynamics worked well. Tea houses - be prepared for dormitory sleeping & some ‘interesting’ toilets ; however , the very existence of what they provide is surprising , given the remote locations.

Porters employed had poor personal equipment i.e. flip-flops instead of hiking / treking shoes. They did not have suitable rainwear for 2 days of rain we got. Toilets in some tea houses was poor I.e. little or no cleaning / maintenance. This should be passed on to owners.

If you’re after creature comforts this isn’t for you; if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and explore the beautiful Annapurna range, meet locals, see some awesome-inspiring scenery, stay in rustic, basic accommodation but have some of the heartiest, tastiest meals and best hospitality ever, whilst taking on a challenging yet deeply rewarding trek, this is for you. Su, our tour leader, was exceptional, nothing was too much bother and he became the 11th member of our group. The crew and guides were fantastic, setting an achievable pace that meant we could chat as we walked or just enjoy the quiet as we took on a section of steeper steps, it all meant we were well-acclimatised for altitude and hardly had any effects whatsoever. Every day was different so there was never a dull moment and always something new to see - we even saw monkeys! The days spent in Kathmandu and Pokhara to top and tail the trip were the perfect intros and downtime to show two very different sides of Nepalese life. The food was fantastic - light, flavourful and satisfying. Have the momos and Dal Baht - you won’t regret it! Going during Nepalese Diwali (Tihar), made the experience even more magical to be honest. Fully recommend going then to get that added cultural experience as well! Just couldn’t have had a better two weeks away in the mountains (with a bit of culture thrown in) if I tried!
