World Expeditions is truly the best company with genuine care and compassionate staff. We joined the Everest Base Camp Trek from 01 October to 17 October 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience, a dream come true. Special thanks to our Tour Leader, Mr. Roy, for being so professional, disciplined, and experienced in handling the group. We truly appreciate his leadership and guidance throughout the journey. Our sincere gratitude also goes to Mr. Mayaliah, Mr. Santos, and Mr. Birbal, all very professional guides with great attitudes. You treated every guest with full attention to detail, fulfilling both our expressed and unexpressed needs. The food provided was excellent, and the tents were always clean and comfortable. I felt truly happy, safe, and blessed throughout the trip. Thank you, World Expeditions, for making this journey one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

We are a husband and wife team who joined the over-55 Everest Base Camp 21-day tour and absolutely loved it. We had great weather, very comfortable accommodation, and a pace that was perfectly manageable thanks to our excellent guides. The food was varied and of a very high standard — there was never a shortage of tea or boiled water. The team of guides, porters, and cooks couldn’t do enough to make us feel safe, comfortable, and ready for the next day’s walk. Our leader, Pinout, was incredible — very knowledgeable about the region, history, and culture, and always happy to share his insights. He was caring, supportive, and strong as a leader. When we woke to bad weather at EBC, the team quickly adjusted our itinerary and led us safely down the mountain through the snow. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We also watched as the team supported another guest who needed help — well done to Demish and Pinout for their professionalism and kindness. It was a truly great experience, and we look forward to more adventures with this wonderful company.

It was an amazing trip!! All participants in my group reached the EBC and it was an excellent group. Our guides were excellent. They were very friendly, tentative and nothing was an hassle for them to help us in many ways. Highly recommended and would do this expedition again with these 4 guides, Roy, Shantosh, Birbel and Mayaella and the hard working porters/ Sherpas. After all it was a forgettable experience!!

Absolutely spectacular

This was a truly amazing adventure, Bhutan is a magical place with wondrous scenery and architecture. The people are warm and welcoming and the sights and sounds of the festivals was incredible with the bright costumes, colours and music. The whole trip was well organised and our tour leader was fantastic and so knowledgeable. I knew Bhutan was going to be good but this trip exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to return.

My first time to Nepal went well from start to finish due to the efforts of the local WE staff, porters and Brikash who was our leader. The scenery was fantastic and the walks challenging but well paced for our group. The Nepalese have a very kind and generous nature. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to travel to the lower Himalayas as an alternative to base camp.

Tips for senior travelers in Nepal

Age range for senior tours in Nepal

Most of our senior tours in Nepal generally cater to travelers aged 50 and above. At Bookmundi, major operators such as On The Go Tours and Intrepid Travel offer guided tours suited for older travelers. While trips by On The Go are open for travelers up to 80 years old, Intrepid Travel takes in senior travelers aged 99 too. We might define senior travelers as individuals aged 60+, but there is no strict age limit. Most of our senior-friendly tours are comfortably designed for retired adventurers, ensuring flexibility and accessibility throughout the experience.

Recommended activities and destinations for seniors in Nepal

From serene landscapes to ancient heritage sites, Nepal offers enriching experiences thoughtfully suited for senior travelers. Explore the ancient city of Bhaktapur on an easy walking tour, stroll through the serene Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu, or take a scenic boat ride on Phewa Lake in Pokhara. Jeep safaris in Chitwan National Park provide gentle adventure and a chance to spot rhinos and exotic birds. While destinations like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Pashupatinath are must-sees, they involve stairs and uneven paths. Most tour operators offering such attractions on senior tours will provide personalized assistance when walking or offer optional tours and attractions with vehicle-assisted access. Best time for seniors to travel to Nepal

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are ideal for seniors, with daytime temperatures ranging between 20°C and 28°C—perfect for sightseeing or light nature walks. Winters can be chilly in the mountains, and the summer monsoon months (June–August) often bring heavy rainfall and muddy trails, which might not suit senior travelers.
