day 1 - Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3,650m)
Take the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Land at Gonngar Airport and drive to Lhasa. The drive from the airport to the city takes around one hour. Check into your hotel on arrival. You are free for the rest of the day.
day 2 - Discover Lhasa
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Also see Drepung and Sera monasteries.
day 3 - Lhasa sightseeing tour continues
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Also see Drepung and Sera monasteries.
day 4 - Lhasa – Gyantse (3,950m) –Shigatse
Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and the high passes of Kora La (5,010m) and Kamba La (4,794m). See the highlights of Gyantse, including the monasteries of Pholkor and Kumbum. A scenic, 90-minute drive from Gyantse takes you to Shigatse, which is officially known as Xigazê .
day 5 - Shigatse – Xegar (4,200m)
Visit the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Then drive to Xegar, crossing over the Gyatchula Pass (5,200m).
day 6 - Xegar – Ronbuk (4,980m)
Enjoy a scenic, 90km drive to Ronbuk through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. See Ronbuk Monastery, also the highest monastery in the world).
day 7 - Ronbuk – Everest Base Camp – Kerong
Hike up to Everest Base Camp (Tibetan side) early in the morning. Return to your accommodation for breakfast. Drive to Kerong.
day 8 - Kerong – Kathmandu
Today is your last day in Tibet. Drive to the Rasuwagadi border after breakfast. Get done with the necessary border formalities and continue your journey to Kathmandu, where this trip comes to an end.
