Lots of fun! Very well run. Delicious food. Glad I was in good biking shape, although the e-bike made it easy. Very glad I brought a padded seat cover and my own shampoo/conditioner.
As this was our first Bike Barge we were not disappointed. Excellent guide food e-bike and barge with a great group of cyclists.
Bike N'Barge in Provence was wonderful. Expertly guided through beautiful countryside, with just the right amount of biking per day. Barge was tight quarters in both cabins and public areas. Food was mostly excellent with the occasional miss at dinner. I would recommend this trip with those caveats.
Wonderful daily trips throughout the French countryside!
Excellent crew. Barge always clean & tidy. Cycling was great!
5 star Experience! This is a fun way to explore a very interesting part of France. I could not fault the boat, bikes and catering. Our excellent guide, Alex and the whole crew were great fun and very attentive to our needs. Thanks!
The Provence Bike and Barge trip was fantastic. The French guide Alex was excellent. She was both knowledgeable and loads of fun. The crew were also fantastic, including delicious food, an attentive steward and competent captain. We were a group of 20 cyclists who all road together with the guide as she lead us safely through the countryside informing us of local culture and traditions along the way. The week long trip was a highlight of our 6 weeks in Europe.
Trip was great thanks to a great crew on board.
The whole crew on the L'estello were very professional. Alex our tour guide was very knowledgeable, kind and fun.
The electric bikes were fantastic and recommended for anyone who doubts they can manage hills.
A well organised trip, great bikes & equipment, superb food and a wonderful tour guide who knew the history well - thanks Mikki.
It was so much fun. We laughed every day. The staff was so attentive and caring and our fellow bike riders only added to the experience. The boat was comfortable and the food was excellent. Some days the riding was a challenge but it gave you the excuse to have another local beer when we got back to the boat. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
Great trip, wonderful food, knowledgeable and hilarious guide.
Wonderful. We were very well taken care of. The guide was knowledgeable, fun, and took good care of us.
It was a wonderful memorable trip. The tour guide and other staff were great the boat was great. The food was great. The sites were great and the bikes were great. Thanks so much.
The guided cycling in Provence was amazing. Manageable distances daily at a reasonable pace through orchards and vineyards with stunning reminders of the reach of the Roman Empire.
The Provence Bike and Boat is a wonderful opportunity to explore this highly regarded region of France.
Excellent in all ways!
This bike and barge trip was absolutely wonderful. The crew was great, the food was much more delicious than I expected thanks to chef Bob and our guide, Weiger was wonderful. The route was well planned out and very doable if you have some previous biking experience. The trip exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it.
Bike n Barge trip in France was perfect. No complaints at all. Staff were awesome, well organized, food was beyond expectations. I had a standard bike which is of high quality and fun to ride. The bike route was fun with small picturesque villages and beautiful scenery. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone’s needs were taken care of. I definitely recommend this trip.
Every aspect of our bike & barge was above expectations. From the gourmet dinners, to the extraordinary guide & the efficiency & friendliness of the crew could not have been better.
Great cycling with fun people. Hugo our guide was outstanding.
Fantastic trip, great crew, food and guide. Very friendly fellow travellers!
We had a great time on the Bike and Barge tour travelling from Avignon to Aigues-Mortes. All the staff on the “Caprice” were fantastic and our tour leader Micky took good care of us. The bike rides were great fun, travelling through beautiful countryside, with interesting stops along the way, and the e-bikes made it fairly easy. The food was outstanding! We would highly recommend this trip for people who like to get out for some active travel in places a bit off the beaten track, who like food and wine, and who enjoy sharing the experience with a small group of like-minded people.
Very good staff. Excellent meals. Barge cabin very tight. Great bikes. Too much “filler” and on biking trips and not enough “experiences”.
We were very pleased with the chef on the Estrell. The food was fantastic. Our biking guide was also a history buff which was great. His guiding was for the most part good. Just a few minor issues.
The bike and barge staff / barge were outstanding. One major problem though. We were with a group of 18 souls. 15 of the 18 used e-bikes. My wife and I used standard bikes. We were very unhappy with the standard bicycles.
Fantastic food, great guide and captain, goods bikes easy to ride and a pleasant route with many coffee stops in quaint villages.
The trip was everything we were looking for. Great food, very well organised, great service by the staff aboard the barge and the barge was generally very clean and tidy. The number of guests on the barge (17) was a god number, particularly when it came to dining and any more may have made it a little crowded. The cycling was just right and the rating on the website was accurate in our opinion. The distance cycled was good for us with the scenery interesting, the bikes were good, the group we cycled with were great and our tour leader Antonio did a wonderful job. Antonio was very good and looked after everyone. He was informative and fun to do a tour with. He interacted well with people and certainly made the trip a great holiday. Overall we could not fault the trip. Well done to everyone.
Well organised, great on board staff and excellent food. Good E bikes.
Great crew, fantastic food, enjoyed the rides with our fantastic guide Michela.
Overall, we enjoyed our bike/barge trip. The accommodations and crew met our expectations, however, the difficulty level and the terrain was not as described when making our trip selection. The experience was listed as introductory to moderate with daily rides from 15 to 34 miles. We never had a day under 20 miles, and in fact, biked over 40 miles on one day. The terrain was described for the most part as mild ups and downs except for one demanding hill, but this was not the case, as there were many demanding hills throughout the week forcing us to change to e-bikes (at an additional $40 per day) in order to be able to complete the rides. Again, the crew was very personable and attentive to our needs, but the riding experience was more difficult than what we were expecting as per the online information. [Response] We provide grading based on the assessed difficulty of the trip within the broader cycle program it offers. The maximum cycle distance is 55km or 34miles. The maximum ascent is +335m with most days between 100 and 200m. At times, there may be variations to the route.
The description on the level of bike riding on the Provence bike and barge was misleading. It states it is introductory to moderate. Due to the difficulty level, members of our group had to upgrade to e-bikes. There was a $40/day fee for this but necessary in order to complete the ride. We are seasoned riders so moderate is doable. The elevation was one issue and the traffic was another issue which is not at an introductory level. If UTracks changes the difficulty level to be more accurate, I would give this trip 5 stars. Accommodations, barge crew, tour leader, and countryside were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our Provence by Bike and Barge from Avignon. The organisation of the pre trip by UTracks was efficient and staff were very responsive by phone. Once we were on board the barge everything was well run and enjoyable. The staff were so well organised and very responsive to all our needs. The rooms were adequate and with good luggage storage space. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Having only 10 couples on board encouraged good camaraderie between all travellers. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and considerate of his group. All in all a great experience!
An adventure not to be missed.
Great experience
A trip of a lifetime. I would do it again tomorrow... in a heartbeat!
Great service and care!
A trip of a lifetime. Recommend every part of it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our barge and bike tour and would recommend it to anyone. The cycling was generally very easy with only a few rough trails or steep inclines ( we used electric bikes which made this very easy). Our guide, Helmut, was very knowledgeable and made us feel safe during the rides. All the on board staff were very attentive and helpful and a special mention must go to Juliano, our chef for the week who constantly prepared absolutely delicious meals. We would definitely consider booking another tour.
They provided excellent facilities and services with bikes, guide, staff, meals, accommodations, daily ride briefings and routes ideal for bikes. We would never find the interesting routes used. The morning and afternoon coffee stops/breaks were interesting locations. The winery, olive oil mill and Arles guided tour were great.
Every aspect was awesome...from the quality and attitudes of the outfitter, to the bikes, boat and especially the food. Very well planned and well executed. And all at a reasonable price. We are eagerly waiting to sign up for our next trip!
UTracks provided us with a fantastic, fun fiflled holiday. The food was splendid, the guide outstanding and the company of our fellow travellers was stimulating.
Laid back but professional in every way. We loved every aspect of the trip and will soon be signing up for our next one!
Great trip- excellent guide, Weigert - great staff chef and barge support staff, Cedric. Overall very happy with experience!
