Our tour of Paris through Trafalgar was excellent. Our tour guide, Jonathan, and our bus driver, Alan, were excellent. Jonathan is very knowledgeable, caring and detailed oriented. One of my relatives on this trip became ill and Jonathan arranged for a doctor to come to her room to provide care for her. The Paris Explorer itinerary is excellent. All of the included and optional experiences were great. We had a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this tour.
We thought that the itinerary was curated to perfection. The options for additional excursions were great! We felt like we saw everything that we wanted to see and more! Fabulous tour guide in Jonathan and the great driver, Alan.
The whole itinerary for the Paris Explorer trip was well planned and carried out in a timely fashion. I can’t say enough great things about , our guide and , our driver. They always handled situations with courtesy and patience. I loved the hotel and the staff members were always helpful and friendly. This was the trip of a lifetime for me!!
This was an excellent tour package! Very well organized, planned out in every detail.
The itinerary was wonderful. We saw so much in just eight days, but the trip never felt rushed. Our tour director was outstanding! He was so knowledgeable and experienced. Our bus driver, was also awesome. I was a little concerned about this being a large group tour, but my concerns were totally unfounded. Everything was so well organized - truly top notch! From the times we visited museums (later in the day less crowded) to the trolley taking us to the top of Montmartre to our excellent seats at the Moulin Rouge and making sure we saw the Eiffel tower at night. Even taking a chance visiting Versailles during the strike on September 10th. Overall, this was a fabulous trip. I would definitely use Trafalgar again as well as recommend them to my friends.
We covered pretty much all the top places you want to get to for an 8 day trip. Lunch at the Eiffel Tower was wonderful and we took advantage of all but one optional trip - they were all well worth it! , our tour director, was knowledgeable, with a good sense of humor, and , our driver, was amazing! Well done!
It's time for Trafalgar to update the itinerary. Specifically, museum visits should be with ample time to see art and other note worthy items, questions and the ability to see items on your own time including the gift shop. No perfume making. Cooking class is fine. And we want to know what is current in the city we are visiting including price of housing, employment, and other items of interest.
5 out of the 11 outings for the week were " optional." Causing additional financial burden to the cost of the trip.
A lot of walking but got to see everything. Not a lot of free time.
Covers all the basics and I feel like I have a better appreciation of the history
The itinerary was great and our Travel Director was excellent. He made the entire experience an unforgettable one. He was knowledgeable, funny, kind and provided so much detail in every excursion that he brought everything to life.
The perfume making workshop was in a small hot room everyone had to stand Could not hear teacher who was soft spoken there were only 3 ingredients to create a scent with and they were not pleasant could eliminate this from the itinerary the workshop I took from fragonard in the grasse location was more in-depth and created a better smelling scent The gluten free bakery could be skipped to allow more time for visiting notre dame More time at Versailles to see gardens and hamlet The cooking school was very good Enjoyed the museum tours and moulin rouge very much Monet’s garden was a highlight Dinner the first night was bland mashed potatoes and chicken, which was not very good
This a wonderful well thought out trip with the opportunity to see just about everything! This is why we chose the “ Paris Explorer”. We also got to see Versailles, Normandy, and Monet’s garden in Giverny. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and witty and made this amazing trip a well rounded out experience. It included an outstanding lunch inside the Eiffel Tower as well as other delicious dinners in Paris. Loved it!
Yes. It was a good visit to Paris hi lights
The itinerary is okay. Have been on many tours, but not with Trafalgar. I’m not used to so much of the tour being optional, requiring additional fees, which seemed quite high.Normally when there is an optional tour there is still other activities suggested for those who choose not to participate. No suggestions were made. We were told to consult with the hotel concierge instead. We should’ve gone up the Eiffel Tower, not just to the restaurant level, where the meal was adequate, not great. You can scrap the perfume making activity as it was poorly explained, and of little value. It appeared to be just a selling op for smelly souvenirs. Time would’ve been better spent at nearby Norte Dame. I’m also not used to so few meals being included. Breakfasts were great at the chosen hotel. The farewell dinner was in a crowded restaurant with one bathroom for the whole place. My eggplant selection was mush. The guide was routinely late and seemed disorganized at times. Even with the Vox’s there were difficulties hearing and following the guide through winding crowded streets. Other guides in the area were seen with signs, banners, umbrellas, etc. to keep in view of the group, not ours. Often times he openly disparaged the guiding process, commenting that he really should retire. I began to agree with him. I appreciate sarcasm as much as the next person, but found him often very critical of other tourists labelled as the Shanghai delegation, the Canadian quadruplets, and French government in general. My experiences in England, Scotland, Italy and Portugal were different. The guides were passionate about their countries and wanted the group to appreciate their country as much as they did. On our last full day we booked a 4 hour tour with a local tour guide who took us off the beaten path and filled us with a great appreciation for all the places, sites and foods that she loved. I did go on the tour of Normandy and found the guide to be well informed and quite moving. I only wish the rest of the tour could’ve been like that. All in all I enjoyed my tour because of the camaraderie of those on board.
The itinerary was generally good. I would have preferred at least three hours at the Louvre as two hours really didn't give us much time. Also, instead of going to make perfume it would be nice to add a visit to Notre Dame instead. The Eiffel Tower, Versailles, cooking class, Seine River Cruise, Montmartre were all enjoyable excursions. It would have been nice to know a bit more in advance as to all the optional experiences as these were all extra costs which we hadn't planned on. The tour guide at the Louvre and the chef at the cooking class were excellent. Our travel director although knowledgeable was not what I've experienced with other guides. Possibly he has been doing these tours too long and has lost his passion.
This was an absolutely wonderful trip due to the itinerary and our Host/Guide .
Most of the itinerary was good, but the perfume experience was a joke and it would have been nice to go to the top of the Eiffel tower as lunch there was mediocre. The guide was aloof, disinterested, and a snob. All of the food was mediocre. Couldn’t even give us a pen and paper for the initial group welcome meeting! Will never do a Trafalgar trip again!
Get rid of the perfume outing. Add more meals. Make the river boat a private dinner ride. The one we went on was horrible...
It was a very complete tour of Paris and the tour guide(s) was wonderful. However the cooking class was a waste of time. Better spent going to Notre Dame. The perfume demonstration was difficult for those who do not do well with the aromas. More time could have been spent at the Eiffel Tower and Giverny. Also time at the Arc of Triumph. It was a well packed tour and the extra tours well worth the money.
It’s a great trip. Because of the length of the stay in Paris, we benefited from a true immersion experience. The tour guide was excellent! His knowledge and experience were so valuable.
Thank you very much to *personal info removed by Feefo* from Paradigm. Nice vocation in France.
The itinerary was full of all the things someone would want to see on a trip to Paris. There were always things to see and places to go which was nice. The trips were full of exciting history l, great fun and good food. Not sure what I would have asked for in addition to
This was a truly beautiful experience. The tour was well-planned and expertly guided by a fantastic tour guide and bus driver. "I highly recommend it."
You exceeded our expectations! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining with his stories. We loved eating lunch at the Eiffel Tower. The hotel was lovely, comfortable, friendly staff and located in a good area accessible to restaurants. We appreciated going to the museums when it wasn't as crowded. We signed up for this tour because of the activities and your tour delivered!
The tour director and team and driver, all doing a very good job and professionally. 👍👍👍
Fantastic trip well worth it. our tour guide was brilliant we learnt so much history and he was lots of fun. our driver was exceptional. We felt safe at all times and he was great. Highly recommend this trip. Trafalgar looked after us so well. So much we have already booked another one next year.
The tour struck the perfect balance between guided sightseeing, optional activities, and free time to explore on my own. It was easy to personalize the experience and make the trip truly my own. Our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor that made the entire journey both enjoyable and unforgettable.
The itinerary gave us an opportunity to see Paris’s most historical and amazing sites. , our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We enjoyed cooking with a chief and making our own perfume. I will definitely recommend this tour to our friends and family. our driver was great.
I would not recommend this trip for anyone with food allergies. There are almost no accommodations whatsoever for severe allergy sufferers. Most places in Paris are not knowledgeable about allergies and cross contamination and our guide was not knowledgeable herself so could not really communicate the needs. Luckily I advocate for myself and have common sense because nuts were served several times when I made it very clear it is a very severe allergy. The trip and itinerary itself was good and the guided tours were good if you want to check items off of your list. I would have spent more time in places like Versaille, the Louvre, and Giverney if I were traveling on my own. The hotel was quite nice and the included breakfast was good and had allergen friendly options. In future, I would not book or recommend a guided trip for allergy sufferers based upon this experience.
This trip allowed for excursions (Normandy, Versailles, Giverny) and free time. Ideas and options for free time were given regularly. Lunch in the Eiffel Tower was fun. Hitting the Louvre late in the day til closing enabled us to see the primary sites with thin crowds. The history of France and the different areas was provided during the bus trips. We were fortunate in that we had some extra time at the end of our trip so that we could visit some areas in more depth. Would recommend this trip to a new visitor to Paris and also to a repeat visitor that would like to have the optional excursions arranged with tickets and transportation.
This trip does it all in downtown Paris! Close to everything. We were walking distance from the Arc de Triomphe and good restaurants too. Amazing tour director.
Staying in one hotel for the week was what made this trip perfect. Loved going on the day trips and coming back to the same location every night. The excursions were well timed in the week. We enjoyed so many wonderful experiences without being worn out at the end of every day. We loved everything we did, and the driver, was amazing. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to go to France. Our guide, was knowledgeable and really great about rescheduling a couple of things, due to weather.
The tour covers all the main bases. Lunch on the Eiffel Tower is a real treat. Jonathan is enthusiastic about his French history.. Recommended
Very well scheduled! Lots to do, but also some unscheduled time to explore and do your own thing. Our guide, was well informed and entertaining.
Wonderful vacation! Johnathan, out tour guide was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. Our driver was amazing at keeping us safe on the streets of Paris. The excursions were fun and informative! The bus was comfortable. The hotel was good. We are looking forward to another tour with Trafalgar.
Eiffel Tower tour and lunch was a joy. Normandy trip was very moving. Climbing in the bunkers and going out on Omaha Beach was necessary. Visiting the cemetery made us cry. The museum was excellent just wish we had more time. The visits to Versailles, Louvre and Orsay museum were amazing with very knowledgeable guides. Montmartre was so much fun, great views and shopping. Cooking class was fun- very French! Flexibility was excellent by both guide when weather was a problem and ability to choose optional exploring activities.
A very good balance of activity and history. We learned so much about where we were at while enjoying the breath-taking sites and sounds throughout the region. This was an excellent itinerary to introduce people new to Paris to this city of wonders.
The itinerary of this trip great, taking us to many popular sites in different arrondissements and doing a variety of activities. Some activities were small group ones at quieter locations, which was a nice break from the more crowded locales in Paris.
It was fantastic, exceeded our expectations!
It’s a great highlights tour of Paris covering all the greatest hits! Moulin Rouge, the great galleries and museums, gastronomy and little treats like perfume making and cooking. I loved all the optional extras as there was something for everyone.
The itinerary was excellent; the features selected were of prime interest. Our guide was outstanding, a definite high point of the tour, in knowledge, presentation, attitude and personality.
It was great to be able to stay at the same hotel the entire week but be able to see so much. Having the arrangements and tickets provided to us by our guide took the stress out of things. The Vox's worked great and made getting around so much easier. was a fantastic bus driver.
The trip was excellent. We had a great adventure and did so much during our time in Paris. We love that we had time to ourselves for dinners. Honestly, we did not love the food choices for our dinners out with the group, but we know it is hard to satisfy 25 people. was awesome too! The driver was fearless. The only thing we did not love was that we got picked up from the airport at 9 AM, but we could not get into our hotel room until 4 PM. We were exhausted and did not sleep on the plane But otherwise it was a wonderful trip. There are lots of Amazing restaurants, right near our hotel. expertise of Normandy was amazing. My husband could’ve left after the second day he loved it that much. This was our third trip with Trafalgar and we will use them again.
Itinerary was excellent but exact time schedules and directions were vague at times. Optional excursions were the best part of the tour. Long walks in the hot sun were not good.
Great itinerary. We saw so many “must see” locations with our tour director and local guides. Lunch at the Eiffel Tower was a highlight. The parfumerie and cooking class were unexpectedly more fun than we had anticipated, even for the hubbys. There was plenty of time for independent exploration such as an evening walk along the Seine, tours of St Chapelle, the interior of Notre Dame and lots of visits to off the beaten track sidewalk cafes.
Excellent. Saw highlights of Paris Met our expectations
This trip provided a great overview of the highlights of Paris. Our tour director was fabulous. If you have never been this is a wonderful first visit to explore this amazing city.
Loved our travel director she was very professional, knowledgeable and competent. The itinerary was well planned snd room was left for ones own preferences. Suggestion remove stop at the one bakery in marais. Hotel staff were also very attentive.
Offers some extra nice features including the wonderful lunch at the Eiffel Tower—special lunch not fast food. Other special features we loved were the perfumery, the cooking class, and the stop at the small unique bakery. Also loved the small boutique hotel—very helpful and personable.
We had an excellent trip. The itinerary included many types of experiences in a variety of neighborhoods in Paris.
High quality tour director and drivers - also were experts associated with visits and events who added a high level of detail. The tour director helped us feel comfortable meeting local people on our own with language help and situational advice. High quality tour with excellent daily destinations.
I liked the mix of structured and free time.
THE ACTUAL TOUR WAS AWESOME. A VERY GOOD VALUE. TOUR DIRECTOR WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE BUS DRIVER WAS SKILLED AND FRIENDLY. COMMUNICATION WITH TRAFALGAR BEFORE THE TRIP WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM AN EXTRA NIGHTS STAY AT THE HOTEL (but I did call the hotel directly and made a reservation for one room for three people ). TRAFALAGAR DID NOT PROVIDE TRANPORT TO AIRPORT SINCE WE DIDN’T MAKE THE EXTRA NIGHT RESERVATION THROUGH THEM. ---THAT COST ME $85 MORE. TRAFALGAR COULD NOT SECURE A ROOM FOR THREE PEOPLE EVEN MONTHS AHEAD OF TIME. (the hotel website did offer rooms for three people but Trafalgar refused to secure one for me and my two grandsons --THAT COST ME ABOUT $1800 EXTRA FOR A SINGLE TRAVELLER --so sad that the Trafalgar company is so inflexible and money grubbing. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL AT 10 AM PARIS TIME - THE HOTEL ROOMS WERE NOT READY. HOTEL STAFF SAID THEY HAD INFORMED TRAFALGAR OF THIS. BUT TRAFALGAR THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OK TO HAVE US WAIT SEVERAL HOURS FOR A ROOM. MY GRANDSONS AND I WERE MISERABLE. ABOUT 12 HOURS TRAVEL TIME THAT INCLUDED 8 HOURS OVERNIGHT AND A 6 HOUR TIME CHANGE. 3 AND HALF HOURS LATER THE HOTEL CLEANING STAFF WOULD NOT CLEAN OUR ADJOINING ROOMS BEFORE CLEANING OTHER ROOMS (first time I encountered cleaning staff that made the rules) even though we were the only ones left waiting for rooms.) I DEMANDED A ROOM, ANY ROOM, SO WE COULD LIE DOWN. AFTER THIS HORRENDOUS START, WE HAD A GOOD TRIP.
This was a great tour. We saw all of the highlights of Paris in a fun and easy way. It was fantastic to spend this time with my daughter.
Food selections need to have several choices. Many meals we had no choice and people were complaining. Luckily I like chicken.
It is a comprehensive tour of Paris. I added all the optionals and really got a good feel for the culture of the city. We always had skip the line - which is great because of the crowds. Lunch on the Eiffel Tower was amazing- as were the trips to Normandy and Monet’s garden. It was nice staying in the same hotel for the week. , our guide, was extremely knowledgeable which helped understand the history.
Travel director and all staff very personable and knowledgeable, engaged with all travelers and we covered quite a bit during our tour and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Our tour guide was outstanding
The included dinners were not good. Most of them were dark meat chicken, thighs and/or legs. They were bland & dry. Some of the local specialists were not good. was the specialist for Versailles Palace. She seemed overwhelmed by the crowds. As a result, she would take our group into a corner in each room and talk to us. She did not explore the rooms with us or encourage us to explore the rooms. For instance, in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, she took us just inside this long room and spoke to us about it. Then, she led us into the next room. She never actually walked far into the room. Fortunately, I chose to walk ahead and walk down the Hall of Mirrors, otherwise I would have missed this experience. At the Louvre, our specialist was . She spoke to us often while walking through rooms without stopping. She warned us that the room that had the Mona Lisa would be very crowded and recommended we follow her as she walks down the side of the room. She told us we would have 10-15 seconds to see the Mona Lisa through our peripheral vision as we walked by!! I’m sorry, I don’t feel 10-15 seconds is acceptable. She didn’t even give us the opportunity to stop on our own if we wanted to for a few minutes. I asked if we could go back for another “10 seconds” with the Mona Lisa & she said it “wasn’t possible”!?!? Also, at the Louvre, we never got to see the famous and iconic pyramid outside the museum! I was so disappointed. Our time in the Marais district was poorly planned and I did not feel like I actually got to see the area. We went to Copains for pastries, which were very dry, plain & all tasted the same. The shop was quite small which made it difficult for the group to go inside. This visit was a waste of time that could have been totally skipped. The cookery experience where we made our own lunch, was also a total waste of time. We were shown how to make a grilled chicken breast! Really? Chicken breast? Nothing French about it. In fact, the chef doing the demonstration, told us she was using spices and herbs from Canada! And, I know how to grill a chicken breast. The meal was boring and bland. I would have much rather spent that time exploring the Marais district. The hotel we stayed out included a breakfast buffet. The dining room was packed every morning. It was often hard to find a table. There was one chef at one omelette station for the huge room. So, there was always a line. This was disappointing. On a positive note, our travel director, was excellent, and so was our driver. They were amazing.
The itinerary has lots of included and optional excursions which allows the traveler to be as busy or relaxed as wanted. The tour guide, was amazing, intelligent, informative, and engaged. The tour guide and our coach driver, kept us very safe and made sure we were aware of our surroundings so we could have a safe and fun time.
Excellent locations to visit. Great coach driver. Charming and knowledgeable tour guide.
Fabulous trip! Nice balance of scheduled activities and free time. The hotel was very well located. The tour director went above and beyond to ensure we each had the holiday we hoped for!
We got to do a lot in 8 days with some free time. It was very organized thanks to Jonathan H. who was very knowledgeable. He was lots of fun, also. My husband couldn't eat onions and Jonathan made sure they weren't added in his food at the group dinners. I would use your company again.
All good No problems
We booked our trip through AAA and did not speak with from Trafalgar until after we had already paid for the trip. at AAA said there was not a lot of walking because I have arthritis in my right knee. After we had paid and committed to the trip, we started hearing from , who said there was a LOT of walking. We were very very, very angry. He was able to offer us a small wheelchair, which made it possible to do most of the things on the trip, but we should never have been blindsided like this. There should’ve been much better communication between AAA and Trafalga. Trafalga should be offering a trip for seniors with limited mobility. We were told by AAA that the tour would be able to make modifications for my limited mobility. That was absolutely not true. After we got there, we were told the tour is the tour and we should just do the best we can. was really helpful and tried to accommodate us as much as he could. from AAA also told us there would be about 14 people on the tour…. There were 51. Jonathan was wonderful and really tried to make things work for us as best as he could with that many people. I really don’t understand why we had so little information about the correct nature of the tour before we paid for it. With the population getting older this could be a massive problem going forward if people with mobility issues are told that this tour was great for them…. Which is what we were told. We saw what we wanted to see in Paris, but I was angry the whole time.
Got to see everything we wanted to see. Our tour guide, was amazing! Large group of over 50 and she managed to get us where we all needed to be with humor, grace and professionalism. She absolutely made our trip. Loved her!
Well planned and were amazing We liked the smaller hotel
Wonderful trip and very interesting itinerary. However few things could be improved. First the hotel Gran Chicago(very presumptious name) other than being close to metro) was old and very small. Dining-room very tiny could not accomodate all our group(51)plus others guests..Mosts of mornings ran out of dishes, cutleries and food. Rooms very small no place to put suitcasers when 2 in the room. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff very nice and accomodating. The included meals at the Brasserie and at the Effeil Tower not very good you can eat just so much chicken., .The excursion of Wine and Cheese was overprice specially the cave was very small and you had to stand for few hours. So overall some things coud be improved.
