We thought that the itinerary was curated to perfection. The options for additional excursions were great! We felt like we saw everything that we wanted to see and more! Fabulous tour guide in Jonathan and the great driver, Alan.
This was an excellent tour package! Very well organized, planned out in every detail.
The whole itinerary for the Paris Explorer trip was well planned and carried out in a timely fashion. I can’t say enough great things about ****************, our guide and Alan, our driver. They always handled situations with courtesy and patience. I loved the hotel and the staff members were always helpful and friendly. This was the trip of a lifetime for me!!
It's time for Trafalgar to update the itinerary. Specifically, museum visits should be with ample time to see art and other note worthy items, questions and the ability to see items on your own time including the gift shop. No perfume making. Cooking class is fine. And we want to know what is current in the city we are visiting including price of housing, employment, and other items of interest.
5 out of the 11 outings for the week were " optional." Causing additional financial burden to the cost of the trip.
A lot of walking but got to see everything. Not a lot of free time.
Covers all the basics and I feel like I have a better appreciation of the history
The itinerary was great and our Travel Director was excellent. He made the entire experience an unforgettable one. He was knowledgeable, funny, kind and provided so much detail in every excursion that he brought everything to life.
The perfume making workshop was in a small hot room everyone had to stand Could not hear teacher who was soft spoken there were only 3 ingredients to create a scent with and they were not pleasant could eliminate this from the itinerary the workshop I took from fragonard in the grasse location was more in-depth and created a better smelling scent The gluten free bakery could be skipped to allow more time for visiting notre dame More time at Versailles to see gardens and hamlet The cooking school was very good Enjoyed the museum tours and moulin rouge very much Monet’s garden was a highlight Dinner the first night was bland mashed potatoes and chicken, which was not very good
This a wonderful well thought out trip with the opportunity to see just about everything! This is why we chose the “ Paris Explorer”. We also got to see Versailles, Normandy, and Monet’s garden in Giverny. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and witty and made this amazing trip a well rounded out experience. It included an outstanding lunch inside the Eiffel Tower as well as other delicious dinners in Paris. Loved it!
Yes. It was a good visit to Paris hi lights
The itinerary is okay. Have been on many tours, but not with Trafalgar. I’m not used to so much of the tour being optional, requiring additional fees, which seemed quite high.Normally when there is an optional tour there is still other activities suggested for those who choose not to participate. No suggestions were made. We were told to consult with the hotel concierge instead. We should’ve gone up the Eiffel Tower, not just to the restaurant level, where the meal was adequate, not great. You can scrap the perfume making activity as it was poorly explained, and of little value. It appeared to be just a selling op for smelly souvenirs. Time would’ve been better spent at nearby Norte Dame. I’m also not used to so few meals being included. Breakfasts were great at the chosen hotel. The farewell dinner was in a crowded restaurant with one bathroom for the whole place. My eggplant selection was mush. The guide was routinely late and seemed disorganized at times. Even with the Vox’s there were difficulties hearing and following the guide through winding crowded streets. Other guides in the area were seen with signs, banners, umbrellas, etc. to keep in view of the group, not ours. Often times he openly disparaged the guiding process, commenting that he really should retire. I began to agree with him. I appreciate sarcasm as much as the next person, but found him often very critical of other tourists labelled as the Shanghai delegation, the Canadian quadruplets, and French government in general. My experiences in England, Scotland, Italy and Portugal were different. The guides were passionate about their countries and wanted the group to appreciate their country as much as they did. On our last full day we booked a 4 hour tour with a local tour guide who took us off the beaten path and filled us with a great appreciation for all the places, sites and foods that she loved. I did go on the tour of Normandy and found the guide to be well informed and quite moving. I only wish the rest of the tour could’ve been like that. All in all I enjoyed my tour because of the camaraderie of those on board.
The itinerary was generally good. I would have preferred at least three hours at the Louvre as two hours really didn't give us much time. Also, instead of going to make perfume it would be nice to add a visit to Notre Dame instead. The Eiffel Tower, Versailles, cooking class, Seine River Cruise, Montmartre were all enjoyable excursions. It would have been nice to know a bit more in advance as to all the optional experiences as these were all extra costs which we hadn't planned on. The tour guide at the Louvre and the chef at the cooking class were excellent. Our travel director although knowledgeable was not what I've experienced with other guides. Possibly he has been doing these tours too long and has lost his passion.
