Sharing your hiking day with a group of like minded travellers
An exhilarating walk around Mont Blanc taking in sweeping vistas of famous peaks and glaciers. The historic Tour du Mont Blanc is easily one of the most spectacular hikes of the world. Brimming with incredible vistas from high mountain passes, lush valleys and highway sized glaciers, alpine scenery does not get much better than this. Joining an international group led by a bilingual mountain guide, the emphasis is on full immersion into the sublime mountain culture, with overnights in cosy mountain refuges or charming village gîtes. Carrying only a day pack, our mules transport your luggage leaving you free to enjoy the days hike. Commencing from the Chamonix Valley in France, the route takes you through Italy and Switzerland during a horseshoe circuit around the Mont Blanc massif. There is plenty of time to enjoy the small villages along the way, including the delightful hamlets of La Fouly and Trient.
Exhilarating trip. Wonderful scenery and thoughtful knowledgeable guide. Refuges generally ok with one exception.
The trek was great. We had a good group who got on well. We were especially lucky to have Maxine as our guide. His experience, local knowledge of the mountains, terrain, history, food, and cultures is fantastic. He set a good pace for the whole group. He’s a good guide and lively family person.
An amazing experience. So lucky to have done it.
Amazing trip! Everything was perfect, the guide, nature, views, food, drink, people, everything!
Maxim was a marvellous calm informative organised encouraging guide The best!
Had a fabulous time made especially so by the awesome guide Maxim. His steady pace, the knowledge he shared and how he interacted with everyone. We had a great group of people that got on well, supported each other and helped others when needed.
Well organized Good guide Small group Lovely weather and beautiful scenery
Really great trip. Leader was excellent. Challenging terrain at times but well paced leader got us through with regular short rests every 45 minutes, great lunch spots and great advice. Thoroughly recommend it.
An incredible trip over Europe's greatest mountain range. Wonderful!
Our hike leader Ellody was fantastic she took care to check each of us were ok with the pace. Ellody knew so much about the Alps PO pointing out interesting features and adding historical information. Ellody arranged a different lunch each day with the main event the cheese, a different one each day. The group I travelled with were lots of fun, we all got on well . The only part I found difficult was two of the refuges which gave use the worst rooms because we arrived later that everyone else. I found this strange as they knew we were arriving and felt they decided we were already committed so no need to care.
Really enjoyed the tramp, stunning experience!
It was a very beautiful trip and our guide Gonzague was really the best!
The TMB highlights walk was excellent to experience. Walking across 3 countries on foot is pretty special and we had amazing views and scenery along the way, despite having rain and snow towards the final days. The pace was a bit faster than I’d expected, not the walking but the lack of breaks and I often felt like we were rushing to get to the next refuge even though we were finishing most days around 3pm, would’ve been nice to have had more time to stop and smell the roses along the way. We also spent a lot of time intersecting with another UTracks group so there was often 30+ people grouped together on the trail which felt a bit overwhelming and crowded at times.
The Tour de Mont Blanc was a truly unforgettable trek! The breathtaking scenery was a constant source of awe—majestic mountain peaks and stunning glacial valleys surrounded us, making every step feel like a journey through a postcard-perfect landscape. Our guide, Elodie, was the heart of this adventure. Her expertise and skill in navigating the trails were impressive, but what truly set her apart was her ability to connect with each member of our group. Elodie shared her extensive knowledge of the region’s geology and geography, and her adept skill in wrangling a particularly stubborn mule added a delightful touch of humour to our days. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it made every hike feel like a new adventure. Plus, her commitment to safety ensured that we all felt secure while exploring this alpine terrain. One of the highlights of the trip was the amazing picnic lunches Elodie prepared, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Enjoying these delicious spreads amidst such incredible scenery transformed our breaks into memorable feasts. Overall, this trip was a perfect blend of adventure, education, and culinary delight, all expertly guided by Elodie. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough for anyone seeking an epic adventure.
Excellant directions for the week. Guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Wonderful trip
All the info to prepare for the trip was extremely helpful! Our guide Gonzague was patient and unflappable!!! The pace of each day was challenging at times( and what we came for) while still making space for taking in the beautiful vistas all around us and taking photos and enjoying rest periods to have a coffee or a piece of cake or enjoy our lunch. Refugio were excellent!
We loved the trip! Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, accommodating, and patient. The hike was challenging but very rewarding. Vistas were astounding in every direction. Refugios were mostly comfortable (although somewhat crowded) and clean with adequate meals (some tastier than others). We’re already considering our next trip.
This was a fantastic trip. Excellent guide in Michel, a diverse group of fun people and the wonderful mule, Une. Scenery was spectacular.
This was a tough hike but amazing! Absolutely beautiful, and well organized. Our guide Gonzague was fantastic, so friendly and helpful.
We just completed the comfort version of the TMB. It was a great trip nearly everything went to plan. Our guide Michel was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Nice balance to the walking about 15 kms per day. We were fortunate to have a great group and that adds something extra to the experience. Would definitely consider another UTracks hike.
Amazing scenery with great challenging hike but a number of the refuges had non maintained poor bathroom facilities. Poor breakfasts in some stays.
Excellent trip with a truly exceptional guide (Big kudos to Fred, a really super person, exceptional skills in both motivation and “group togetherness”. I will plan another trip with them for certain!
UTracks did a fantastic job. Our guide was lovely and everything went smoothly. Thanks UTracks!
Absolutely amazing opportunity. The other participants and our guide, Sebastian, were the best. We lucked out with the weather and feel so blessed.
A wonderful experience, with amazing hiking and an excellent guide. Also great companions (and mule)!
What an amazing week! LOTS of physical effort (it is hard work) was rewarded with the most spectacular views and to be in this incredible area was so uplifting and inspiring. Our guide Yoan did a super job - his knowledge and expertise in the mountains was truly invaluable - he answered all my inquisitive questions and the information he gave us about the history, geology, culture etc added so much to the journey. Without a guide, you would miss so much! Having the mule was also a fabulous experience - apart from taking the weight off our shoulders, to walk alongside such a strong, intelligent animal was a true treat. Can't recommend this tour more highly - get your legs strong and your body fit and all that effort will be rewarded by a profoundly wonder-full experience.
A challenging hike amid stunning scenery. Pleasantly surprised by some of the overnight accommodation but found some of the breakfasts, specifically in Italy, strange. Distances on itinerary different to what is actually covered.
The trip was fantastic, the pace was really well set and our guide was great at knowing the best paths and when the group needed to speed up or slow down. Beautiful scenery!
You need to be fit to do this trip and able to cope with close sleeping arrangements in dorms but we thoroughly enjoyed the views and our guide was excellent.
This was a terrific trip, well paced, challenging yet very doable. The quality of the accommodation was mostly good. The guide was outstanding and most enjoyable. Highly recommended for those who seek a bit of adventure with the convenience of a guide and comfort of knowing everything will be taken care of. All the pre information provided was very useful and accurate.
Beautiful challenging
Our group was diverse, we had participants from UK, Australia, US and France. Also we had ages 13-71. We celebrated 2 birthdays on the trail. Our guide Michael was great, nice personality and helpful on the trail. Living conditions (refuges and gites) were basic but as expected. We had fun!
Simply unforgettable. Amazing.
My trip was really enjoyable. So well organised and our gide Nicole was such a great character which added So much to the experience. I'll definitely be going on another walk holiday.
The Tour du Mont Blanc is an amazing walk. Every step is spectacular, walking with like-minded people and staying in remote places of the Alps was amazing. Walking the mule Reine was calming and unique and the first-hand knowledge of our guide Sebastian made the tour smooth. I loved the cheese and really recommend this walk.
