Switzerland Eco Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our Eco Switzerland tours
Pedro was an excellent guide - very efficient, organized and patient. He was well versed in the area and helpful with whatever needs we had. We were unable to do the incline in Switzerland, which I had already paid … (need a $$credit) due to the weather. I am terrible with surveys, but it was wonderful having him for the entire tour, including the extension in Vienna!
Cynthia was a wonderful tour guide and happy to share her knowledge with us to have the best experience possible. Would definitely choose Collette again. We felt safe in another country and enjoyed all the sites. The only thing I suggest are in regards to the restraints: I would suggest for future trips to have a way to remind people with a list, email, or text for everyone to refresh themselves of their choice, Choosing meals a day or two in advance and on the bus can be a hurried decision that people may need to think about longer or people forgot what they chose and resulted in several meals resulting in meals being mixed up and eating what they didn’t choose. It would enhance the meal experience. Neither my husband or I would have chosen soup and were looking forward to a fresh salad and we both got the opposite main meal we had chosen. 1. The restraunt in Bern -I would not choose to eat French fries in 4 star restraunt and overall didn’t care for the presentation of the heavy cream sauce on the fries and steak. The fries were also overcooked and looked like a filler food. For an expensive meal I would have preferred a healthier vegetable. 2. The restraunt chosen for our last evening- we sat down and inquired if an alcoholic drink was included with the meal and was responded with a rude, snippy comment from the server that we would have discussed this prior with the tour guide. This started the evening off uncomfortable due to the aggressive server. Overall excellent tour. Thank you. Suzanne B
Diverse itinerary from west French-speaking SUI to east German-speaking SUI. We very much enjoyed being able to independently enjoy the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The autumnal colors in the vegetation was an unexpected surprise. The waters in the many lakes - Geneva, Brienz, Thun - is beautifully clear. Next time we get to visit, we'd like to sail a sailboat on at least one Swiss lake. The one optional experience we joined in was the Jungfrau, going to over 11,000 feet above sea level. Amazing to be on glaciers and experience the wicked wind. The clouds didn't allow much visibility but what we saw was incredible. We found plenty during our self-guided explorations in the various stops. Took advantage of the water fountains country-wide to refill our water bottles, not used to the cold glacial water but we enjoyed it. Thoroughly enjoyed the local vineyard's wine tasting and lunch. Very impressed with the wood carving museum and The Lion. Train rides were fun. Cows, sheep, goats were fun too. The 9 day length was the right amount. Our tour director from Germany, and our coach driver from Austria, are gems and rockstars! We also appreciated the patience of the vendors and general population with our small bit of Americanized-French and German accents with words that we tried not to mispronounce. Did our shopping in souvenir stores and in sports stores along our tour. The one disappointment was in a Lucerne store where we bought Swiss knives and wanted engraving on a special edition knife, misinformation between the sales clerk and the engraving clerk. Big shout-out to the women we met in Reitnau on our adventure to locate relatives with our same last name, Hochuli. Also to the church, where we located the outside cemetery and on the inside of the church, two birth announcements of part of the next generation of Hochuli. Would do this tour again and woul travel to Switzerland to further self-explore on our own.
Well planned. I would highly recommend to my friends and relatives, Best tour and experience we ever had. Will do it again. The travel coodinator is excellent , well equipped and always have a back up at the event weather does not cooperate, always have alternative, friendly and fun to be with.
So happy with the Swiss Delights tour - from the Tour Director, with the friends we made and the scenic views and unforgettable experiences we collected. So amazing and beautiful
and were totally awesome!!! made the road trips interesting as she was very knowledgeable. She had info that we could relate with and found some surprise spots. Loved it. navigated the roads with ease although they were winding and narrow. Never a concern with her at the wheel.
