Switzerland Tours in June 2026

A wonderful tour, one of the best I have ever been on. We spent most of the time in country Switzerland, which is what I really like. Our last two nights were spent in Grindelwald, it is so beautiful there. To see the amazing waterfalls on the Rhine River was amazing. We made our own chocolate, helped make cheese, and visited a man who makes Alp horns. Staying at Vitznau on Lake Lucerne was just amazing too. It was good to stay in Bern too, to visit a city - for balance. We also had a wonderful, caring and professional tour guide, one of the best. Back Roads is now my number 1 tour company to travel with.

The tour was very well planned and the activity level was just about right. There was enough to do but still some private time.The best part of the trip was the beautiful scenery around every corner. I liked the different kinds of transportation. We were on the bus, train, and a cable car.

The whole experience was wonderful. It made our first trip to Europe a very informative and memorable adventure. Lake Maggiore was so pleasant and all of the train rides were beyond compare. Paolo was an excellent tour manager and he knew all the right places to eat and had great rapport with all of the hotels and restaurants along the way.

My tour was everything I expected and more. It was fun-filled, informative and scenic. The tour was balanced with plenty of sight-seeing and free time to explore on my own. I felt immersed in the local culture with the included activities and especially the food. There were 3 activities I enjoyed the most. One was the trip to and down from Mt. Pilatus on the cog railway and the gondola. One was apple strudel making and one was the Tyrolean Evening program. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Experienced superb planning, care, and experiences throughout the main tour and the Vienna extension! Highly recommend to others. Tour Manager Martin Ketter plans with meticulous detail while maintaining flexibility and easy-going style with all guests. Martin is also a student of life and history of all the areas visited and shares his knowledge with guests when traveling to and from the locations. All local guides were also pleasant, informative, and fielded questions with deyail. Hotel breakfasts were a cornucopia of delicious foods. The Bern, Munich, and Vienna hotels had gourmet self serve coffee makers -- wonderful. All provided lunches and dinners were excellent. All excursions and performances were culturally relevant and entertaining! One item for improvement, the shower at Vienna hotel was nearly impossibly too narrow to maneuver while keeping the swinging door in position to avoid a great deal of water leaking past it and onto the floor. Took some acrobatic, was slippery, and a bit dangerous.

The tour locations were appropriate, the activities were fun and served to meld the group together and the train sectors were spectacular. Our tour leader was excellent managing issues with care and knowledgeable about the locations we visited
