The Pacuare’s class 3 and 4 rapids are suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers, ages 12 and older, who are ready for adventure and being physically active all day. After an early pick-up at your San Jose area hotel, we will drive to Cartago – Costa Rica’s historic capital city – and through small towns and countryside to the rafting hub of Turrialba. We’ll stop for breakfast (included) and afterward head to the Pacuare River put in. At the river, your guides will outfit you with rafting equipment and give a paddling explanation and safety talk. Then the fun begins! We need a word to describe this trip: When you have expectations, images, and ideas. Yet they all prove to be pathetic, for the reality is much fuller--full of casual sloths, jumping off of waterfalls, picking cacao fruits in someone's backyard, practicing Spanish with locals, spying on a tapir through binoculars at Corcovado National Park. The trip with G Adventures (and most importantly, with Marina), sparked joy in unimaginable way.
