visiting all important cities around the island of sicily covering most tourists attractions
Great itinerary, well paced, hit all the highlights, top class, hotels, and the coach was very spacious with some of the roads removed to add more legroom. High quality, driver and tour guide as well. Very concerned about our comfort and very concerned about our special needs and individual situations. Very knowledgeable and personable. Was glad to give them more tip than required.
overall the destinations covered in this tour covered Sicily well however I think Enrice was a must inclusion & should not be an optional. We were taken to places we never would have had the opportunity to visit - given the same timeframe & lack of local knowledge. A grateful callout to our tour leader & to our amazing driver for keeping us safe on such challenging roads. We travelled in the lead up to the "high" season and given that I have a hospitality background I feel I am qualified to make the following comment - I was disappointed in some of the food options - there was a lot of repetitiveness in the menus and meals felt rushed..get em in / get em out!! I also felt this way at some of the hotels were over represented, that we were secondary guests.
Some of the tours were dragged out far too long. While others not long enough, such as Mt Etna. We were not given enough time to take a walk/hike. That is one of the top sites people come to Sicily for. The dining was good, only one of the private dinners was not up to standards for service. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, just didn't have the people skills or patience for the group. Personally she didnt bother me, however several were offended by some of her responses. This was my 6th trip and I rate it average.
It was well planned and thought out Enjoyed all the tour guides they hired Loved seeing the whole Island The dinners every night were surprising and fun, very good variety The bus ride was so comfy and the air conditioning felt so good on the hot days in the sun Our tour guide was very organized and timely Our bus driver was amazing the way he maneuvered the bus around sharp corners, felt very safe and in good hands with him
Hotels and restaurants selected by Insight Tours were way below par. Hotels that were supposed to be 4 stars cannot even attain 2 star given their rooms and amenities. Most of the Restaurants' food was not good....almost the same pasta every meal.
Very in depth on the history of Sicily, the tour highlighted all special places to see on the island, we had a great time with our group hanging out together throughout our visit. Our tour guide did a great job with all the logistics and making things fun and educational. The bus driver was amazing, his professional ability to drive the bus was unbelievable skilled talent! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.
