Itinerary

The Rhine Valley Cycle tour invites experienced travelers and seniors to explore one of Europe’s most culturally rich and scenic regions by bike. Over 8 days, ride along both the German and French sides of the Rhine River, meandering through Strasbourg, Freiburg, Riquewihr, and charming Alsatian villages. Dedicated bike paths make for easy, safe cycling, while daily highlights include half-timbered houses, medieval castles, and tastings of local wine and cuisine. Discover UNESCO-listed towns, Romanesque architecture, and vibrant markets, all while soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of the Alsace Wine Route. The standout feature: a wine-lover’s wonderland paired with captivating history, delivering a truly enjoyable and picturesque bicycle tour.

Day 2Cycle along the Rhine and through forest to Ettenheim in Germany (60km/37.5mi)

Day 3Cycle to the art city of Freiburg in the Black Forest region (50km/31mi)

Day 4Cycle to Neuf-Brisach and onto Colmar (60km/37.5mi)

Day 5Cycle the foothills of the Vosges mountains to Riquewihr (40km/25mi)

Day 6Continue through picturesque villages to Obernai (35 or 50km/31 or 22mi)

Day 7Along the banks of the Bruche canal to Strasbourg (40 or 55km/25 or 34mi)
