Experience the essence of Burgundy on the "Burgundy Canals and Vineyards" tour, a 7-day self-guided bicycle journey through southern France’s most celebrated wine country. Ideal for experienced travelers and seniors seeking moderate activity, this trip winds from Beaune through Chassay-le-Camp, St Boil, and picturesque villages dotted with Romanesque art and historic chateaux.

Cycle along the scenic Voie Verte cycleway, past rolling hills blanketed with vineyards, and discover charming hamlets brimming with local produce. Pause to sample wines at cellar doors or enjoy leisurely lunches in regional restaurants. Handpicked hotels offer comfort and a taste of true Burgundy hospitality each evening.

The highlight of this tour package is the perfect blend of cycling through storied landscapes and indulging in world-renowned wines, making it an exceptional choice for those who appreciate culture, history, and gastronomy in equal measure.

Excellent itinerary and the accommodations were fine. The bikes were typical and worked as expected. The best surprise of the trip was Cluny Abbey, and the Michelin dinner in the hotel the final night in Tournus was memorable. The views along the route were wonderful, although the terrain was hillier than expected (but not too difficult and matches the '3' rating). All in all, a very enjoyable trip.

The self-guided app was extremely easy to use and the baggage porter/accommodations were great, including a fantastic final hotel. Highly recommend you pre-planning your stops each day as there is so much to see that it can't all be done. If you aren't a super confident or fit rider, get the ebike. Overall we had an incredible and memorable time, although the last cycle day could have been re-routed through more scenic areas as there wasn't much to see/do in Macon.

The organisation of our trip from New Zealand was great from the start. The trip itself was great and the 18 of us had a great time.
