Small group of 15 with similar age group Guide personable , caring , & very knowledgeable Extremely well organised with the right amount of timing to have own time & organised tours Time to get to know each other Excellent dinners Chateaus we stayed in were wonderful Loved all the history & our guide Albert could make history fascinating in the way he related all his stories .
The itinerary was great. Loved all the places we visited. Our guide was exceptional This was our accommodation on the last nite!!!
Our recent trip to France was very excellent! The locations visited and the itinerary were first class. All in all a fabulous trip to a beautiful country.
Wonderful tour and would definitely travel with Blue-Roads again.. Albert, from France, was a highly professional, knowledgable and fun tour guide with the ability to build rapport with everyone. He could bring history alive in a simple, accessible way. Both Albert and our bus driver received applause from the group for their skills on more than one occasion! We were lucky to have a great group of 15 or 16 social, interesting, mature-aged singles and couples. The places we visited each day brought new surprises, beautiful towns, lovely accommodation and opportunities for exploration. The group tour made travel easy - I felt safe, could rest/relax on the bus and at the end of each day focus on the social dinner ahead. It was nice to spend two nights in the same locations too. I saw beauty everywhere on the tour and there were numerous highlights.
The itinerary was excellent. Accommodation was well chosen with stop offs equally fascinating. The pace was comfortable. Tour guide (Albert) is a legend. Bus driver (GG) a very cautious and expert motorist. Loved the whole experience. Highly recommended.
A large part of the success of the tour was the like-minded fellow travellers. Lovely people and an inclusive group. The driver was very involved with the passengers and was good fun. Compared with other travel offerings, this tour was good value for money.
Great tour guide Very well organized
La Belle France was a wonderful tour, the itinerary was very good, varied and allowed for quite a lot of free time. If you are interested in gardens, chateaux and picturesque towns with timber framed buildings this is the tour for you. Stefanie was a great tour leader, very knowledgeable and adjusted the pace according to the needs of the group. I appreciated the insights into French life that she gave us.
Perfectly paced and curated covering some of the most picturesque towns and villages in Normandy Brittany and northern France
Really enjoyed - will do another. Stephanie and Jani were great.. Hotels were great with the possible exception of Paris .
La Belle France was a great opportunity to experience the north of France and learn about its deep and moving history. We were able to see the “back roads” and immerse ourselves in the history of the region. The bus and driver were excellent and complemented by guide Marie who was able to fulfil any request asked of her. The small tour group was excellent company and supported a positive experience. A worthwhile tour for those seeking a more detailed and history laden tour.
The trip was amazing. Our guide and driver really made the experience one that we will never forget.
A very good and pleasant tour Covered a lot of ground Disappointed about not able to see Bayeux Tapestry. But perhaps add more time for Normandy to be spent . Instead of the Cathedral .A bit of a rush in Normandy, a lot to take in and emotional time to visit the memorial. On the whole I enjoyed my trip with a very good knowledgable tour guide Albert and coach driver who kept us safe.
The itinerary was well planned to give a range of experiences throughout the holiday. The visits to a winery, cider brewing were very interesting, and some more of this type of local experience would fit well with all the other visits. I found the visits to Normandy and other War Memorial sites of particular interest and quite moving. The viewing of historic places such as Monet's garden, the Taurin Tapestry and other special places were excellent breaks from the large number of castles visited. The provision of free time to allow our own investigations of some towns was most welcome, providing some leisure time too. The small group size is an attraction to the Back Roads touring style as it allows all members of the touring party to meet and mingle well. The tone of the holiday was set by the friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, Marie Plattard, and the expert coach drive, Alex. Marie was always available to provide local information and suggestions for our free time, and to help where possible with any problems we may have had. I would certainly seek-out what Back Roads tours had to offer when considering other country holidays, and recommend it to my friends and family.
La Belle France was an excellent tour, with a friendly, knowledgeable and good humoured guide (Marie) and a very safe and reliable driver (Alex). The group size was perfect - 14 tourists, and the organisation and paces we visited fulfilled all expectations.
