day 1 - Cusco - KM 82 - Hatunchaca - Ayapata
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 a.m. You’ll enjoy a scenic drive with a breakfast stop in Ollantaytambo to buy any last-minute supplies. Then we’ll continue on to KM 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail hike, where we’ll meet our chefs, porters, guide and complete your checkpoint entry.
The adventure begins with an easy three-hour hike through traditional villages to Llactapata, where you’ll explore the Willkaraqay complex and admire Patallacta’s ruins from a hillside lookout. Then enjoy a delicious lunch at Hatunchaca, prepared by our expert chef using fresh, local ingredients.
The final part of the day is a two-hour hike to Ayapata campsite (3,300 m). Your tent will be set up and waiting, inviting you to sip a hot drink as you admire the mountain panorama. Then enjoy your meal and relax in your comfortable tent.
day 2 - Ayapata – Warmiwañuska – Runcuraccay – Chaquicocha
Our team will wake you up early with a hot cup of coffee or coca tea, then fuel up with a hearty breakfast before tackling the day’s biggest challenge: a four-hour climb to Dead Woman’s Pass (4,215 m).
At the summit, you will feel the tranquility of this location while your guide performs a traditional offering to the Apus. Then we´ll descend two hours into Pacaymayu Valley for a well-deserved lunch.
In the afternoon, hike two hours up to Runqurakay Pass (4,000 m), then follow a two-hour downhill trail to Chaquicocha campsite (3,600 m), pausing en route to explore the Inca sites of Runqurakay and Sayacmarca. Arrive in time to relax by the lagoon and marvel at the star-filled sky.
day 3 - Chaquiccocha – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñay Wayna
With the hardest section behind you, Day 3 is a relaxed five-hour hike to our final campsite.
Along the way, you will encounter incredibly diverse with beautiful views. Visit the ancient inca sites Phuyupatamarka (City in the Clouds), Intipata (Terraces of the Sun), and Wiñay Wayna (Forever Young).
We’ll reach camp around 1:00 p.m. for lunch, after which you’ll have time to rest. Later, we’ll return to Wiñay Wayna for a guided history tour before heading back for tea and your last dinner under the stars.
day 4 - Wiñay Wayna - Sungate - Machu Picchu
Rise before dawn for a one-hour hike along misty mountain paths to the Sun Gate (your first glimpse of Machu Picchu ) as the sun lights up the mountains.
Next, descend via Circuit 1, ideal for capturing that classic Machu Picchu shot, until you reach the main entrance. Then re-enter on Circuit 3 for a guided tour of the site’s highlights.
Later, catch the bus down to Aguas Calientes and enjoy free time to wander the town at your own pace. Finally, board the panoramic Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo, where our team will meet you and transfer you back to your Cusco hotel in a private van.

INCA TRAIL to MACHI PICCHU
As our guide would say "The point is this, my friends"... and the day begins. This was one of the best experience I have had. Our guide - Gary - made sure we were on schedule on the trek. He explained to us all the pros and cons and how to get the most out of the Inca Trail. The porters were great. The chef - Julio - made the best camp meals for vegetarians. The scenery is breathtaking. Yes it may seem long and a lot of walking but its worth it. The team made the whole journey worthwhile - from booking to the end. Rosmel - our booking contact kept us informed all the time. Don't hesitate, just do it. Great guide, chef and company. Mahesh
One family, two hiking paces
Our family of four quickly split into two different hiking paces, fast and slow, on this trip. Jacqueline was incredibly patient and supportive with the altitude challenged hiker, and allowed the rest of the group to feel less guilty about charging ahead at a faster pace. Jacqueline’s gentle support allowed everyone to have a great trip at their own speed. Once we got to Agua Caliente, our friends and co-travelers upgraded to the InkaTerra hotel and invited us for dinner. We recommend this hotel for your final night of the trip.
A walk in the clouds
Edy, our lead tour guide, was exceptional in providing information about the trail and Inca culture. His passion and knowledge made it feel like we were traveling with an Inca warrior who wanted to share his culture with us. Maribel, the assistant tour guide and only female in a crew of about 70 persons, shared her love for the Inca culture by adding distinct touches to the narrative and campsite decorations. The entire team was professional, efficient and caring. No question that they are the best group to lead your personal Inca experience.
Gary and crew were amazing
Our guide Gary was very informative and very fun. He did a great job of making sure our crew was taken care of at all points during the trip. Our porters were outstanding. They had everything ready for us when we needed it. They really humbled our crew with their speed, hard work and attention to detail to certain members of our group who had dietary restrictions. To be in the wild and have all the amenities that we did was truly astonishing. If I ever do this trip again, I will go with this very company and their excellent team. I have already recommended them to many of my friends.
Classic 4D/3N Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
This trip was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations. Our tour guides, Pepe and Gilbert, were available at every moment, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about providing a great experience for all the hikers. The porters are basically superhuman and extremely committed to ensuring the success of the trip. Our head chef, Balbino, delivered the most decadent, multi-course meals I’ve ever had, let alone in the middle of the Peruvian Andes.
