Pressed for time but dreaming of the Inca Trail? The 2-Days Short Inca Trail with Hotel trip is crafted for young adults and families seeking an exhilarating yet manageable trekking experience. This express adventure delivers all the magic of Peru’s most famous hike in just two days, including a memorable arrival at Machu Picchu through the legendary Sun Gate.
With breathtaking vistas at every turn, you’ll trek the same ancient paths as the Incas, culminating in not one but two opportunities to explore the mystical ruins of Machu Picchu. The tour’s standout feature is its ability to provide the authentic Inca hiking experience—complete with dramatic scenery and cultural insight—without the time or endurance required for the classic four-day route.
If you want a taste of Peru’s iconic trek and a close-up encounter with one of the world’s greatest archaeological wonders, this tour package offers the ultimate shortcut to adventure and discovery.
Get ready to start the day early. We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 am, before driving for 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo train station. From here, we take the train to KM 104l which is the beginning of our trip on the Inca trail.
After a short walk, we will reach the first Incan site, Chachabamba. Our guide will inform us about all the details of this site. Afterward, continue walking gradually uphill enjoying the spectacular scenery until the Wiñaywayna Incan temple. The temple name means “forever young”. Our guide will deliver a great history of the site, and afterward, we will have our snacks or packed lunch at the checkpoint of Wiñaywayna.
We continue hiking to Machu Picchu for two more hours, entering through the Gate of the Sun, from where we’ll have the first views of the famed Incan city. Once we arrive at Machu Picchu, we’ll take some great shots of the Incan city.
We’ll then take the bus to Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes) where we’ll stay at a nice hotel and have dinner at the restaurant.
Rise early and have breakfast in the hotel. Then, we will catch the bus to Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes. We will want to be at Machu Picchu by 6 am to see the sunrise. Once we reach Machu Picchu you will be given a 2-hour walking tour of the site.
If you have elected to climb Huayna Picchu mountain (the price for this is not included in your tour price) you will begin the hike at 10 am. If you are not climbing the mountain you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will board the expedition train to Ollantaytambo train station. From Ollantaytambo, you will travel by private van to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel. The arrival time in Cusco depends on the time of your train ticket.
I booked the 2-days inca trail with David, the tour manager of this tour company. It was a smooth process, he is the best at organizing cars, trains, permits, tickets, nice hotel and nice meals in a very short notice. Very impressive for amount of work he did compare to the time I gave him, really. Rom, my trek guide is patient, knowledgeable and cares about your once in a lifetime experience to get how you want it to be. I have joy when I looked back at those photos from the trip. Every part of itinerary was on time, professional and customer satisfaction base. I feel safe and happy. Recommend this local operator, look no further. I will use them again in the future. Thank you.
Let me start by explaining how David went above and beyond to get permits for our trip in the last minute. We contacted him via WhatsApp, one day before of our trip to check if he can accommodate us. He did some magic and got permits for next day. It’s just unbelievable. We did the 2 day short Inca Trail and David was beyond exceptional. His English was excellent, his local knowledge from being from a near by town meant we got a very personal history tour, not only about the Incas, but the local fauna and Flora. His passion was admirable. David made the experience perfect for someone who wants to hike and learn about the history! It was definitely a trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend!
We have booked the 3 day tour including the Sacred Valley, short Inca Trail and Machu Picchu and enjoyed it very much! Our guide (Ronald) was very knowledgeable and a good company. They have also chosen very good accommodation and restaurants for us.
Absolutely incredible experience! Our tour guide, Rom, was so patient with our group and provided so much information for each spot! 100% will use this agency again!
