Our guide Charlotte was the amazing...very knowledgeable, organised and efficient {a lot of coordinating transport from island to island}. Most of all she has a wonderful kind and caring personality...and managed to smile all the time!

I've recently completed the combined Corfu South and North walking trip along the Corfu trail. The walking was excellent with a mixture of walking through olive groves, coastal walking, and hilly terrain. Our guide Spiros was extremely passionate about the trail and caring for it and was a wealth of information. There were lots of opportunities to swim in the evenings though the October weather can be a little challenging. Accommodation and breakfasts were variable but generally OK. Spiros took us to some lovely establishments to enjoy the typical Corfu food which was very good. Overall a fantastic walking trip. Note that the south walks are a bit tougher due to the longer lengths.

With every trip I have done with Explore, the guides were excellent. Charlotte, the Greek island wander guide matches this excellence and then easily exceeds it. Because of how thorough, friendly and helpful she was, the trip was superb from end to end and for every detail. Even when I had free time, if I asked for information about what I planned to do, she was helpful. This was my first trekking holiday and I’m so glad I chose the South Corfu Trail. Some of the accommodation was basic as expected. Spiros was absolutely fantastic and so passionate about the island - he really made it so enjoyable. Good size group and mix. I would highly recommend this option

This trip was suggested to me by a friend, but as an 83 year-old who ‘peaked’ more than 10 years ago I had some reservations about going on it. However, my fears were put to rest when I saw that the same hotel was used before and after the most challenging stage – the 14-mile final stretch of the northern trail, including the crossing of Mount Pantokrater. But in the event, although the terrain is hilly with some steep climbs I didn’t find any of the walking particularly difficult. It helped that a lot of the journey was on shady woodland tracks. Mt Pantokrator was quite an easy climb, the only challenge being the length of the day and the distance. Not having visited Corfu before I found it a fascinating place, and have many vivid memories of the trip. We were fortunate to have, in Spiros, a leader who was very knowledgeable about local history, politics and wildlife. He worked very hard to make the holiday enjoyable for us, including leading us on a beautiful coastal walk to Kassiopi on the free day. I only wish I had discovered the island earlier so that I could walk the southern section as well.
