Greece Tours for Experienced Travelers

Collette’s tipping policy is a concern to me. Collette needs to spell out in your trip planning information how the tour guides are compensated. Is the tip or gratuity is part of their compensation or a bonus for a job well done. This was my second tour with Collette. I like the hotel accommodations and selection of activities and attractions that included. Please provide more information on the gratuity part of your tours.

The name of the tour ‘Treasures of Greece and the Islands’ really says it all! We experienced many of the iconic highlights from the breathtaking monasteries in Meteora to sunny Santorini and Mykonos, along with ancient ruins across Greece. It was a wonderful way to see beautiful Greece and learn about its rich history and culture. Our tour director was very experienced and an entertaining storyteller, which made the journey enjoyable. She was also extremely organised, which was especially valuable when we had to take the ferries for the island portion of the trip. The local experts brought the history to life at the various historical sites. Personally I found the hotels very comfortable, with friendly English speaking staff and they all had a great selection for breakfast. This was a trip of a lifetime for me so I opted for most of the additional experiences. Overall an amazing tour.

Our tour was fortunate to have a group of very kind and extremely enjoyable people to go on this amazing adventure. We all bonded quickly over our shared love of traveling and history. We had the best tour manager a team could hope to have in Dimos. He was organized, informative, fun to be around,and always had the best interest of the group in mind. We were able to experience Greece in such away that we will want to return to learn more. It would take a lifetime to truly absorb the rich history of Greece, however with this tour, we were able to obtain a wonderful sampling of what Greece has to offer. From the historic archeological sites at Olympia and Delphi to the beautiful tropical beaches of Mykonos and Santorini, this tour is a complete package. We loved every minute.

The places we went are intrinsic to the understanding of Greece and its people. Our trip was made all the better for having such a knowledgable and friendly guide. We know we wouldn't have had such an amazing experience if we'd tried to do it all ourselves.

The Highlights of Greece with Island Explorer itinerary was excellent and delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Over the course of 12 days, I felt that we truly experienced the highlights of both mainland Greece and the islands. The itinerary was comprehensive, well paced, and provided a great balance of history, culture, sightseeing, and free time. From Athens and Delphi to Meteora, Santorini, and Mykonos, I felt that we were able to see and experience the places that make Greece such a special destination. The coach was comfortable, clean, air conditioned, and exactly as described. I especially appreciated the charging ports available for mobile devices, which made long travel days much more convenient. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotels selected by Costsaver. I found them to be clean, safe, well located, and staffed by friendly employees. The breakfast offerings were consistently good and provided a great start to each day. The hotels in Athens and Itea were particularly enjoyable, and the hotel in Mykonos was outstanding. The Mykonos property offered beautiful views, an excellent room, a comfortable bed, great laundry service, and one of the best overall hotel experiences of the trip. My only constructive feedback relates to room accommodations and bathrooms at some properties. In Santorini, the shower was extremely small and difficult to use comfortably. Additionally, although we requested a double bed, the room consisted of two twin beds pushed together rather than a true double bed with a single mattress. While I understand this is common in Europe, I would encourage Costsaver to work with its hotel partners whenever possible to provide true double beds for couples who request them. I would also suggest ensuring that shower designs adequately contain water so that bathroom floors do not become wet during normal use. These were relatively minor issues in what was otherwise an excellent travel experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with the itinerary, transportation, accommodations, and value provided by Costsaver, and I would gladly travel with them again.
