I had an amazing and enjoyable experience discovering the highlights of Greece. There was a number of ancient sites/museums visited and the group learned so much from the amazing local specialists on this tour. This also gives you a chance to connect with the locals and see their family run businesses - such as a honey bee facility, olive farm and a clay pottery workshop. Our TD- is outstanding! She is by far, the best TD that I've met out of the 7 trips with Trafalgar. All the hotels we stayed in are cozy and clean. I love Divani Caravel in Athens for it's breakfast and location The view at Delphi hotel was beautiful. Just like any other tour - there's a lot of walking and a lot of them involved going uphill (Acropolis, Mycenae, Delphi and Meteora). It will also be good to book an extra night in Athens either before of after the tour. There are still some sights to see (up close) which are not part of the itinerary (only a drive by). The only downside of this tour for me was the day we visited 3 ancient sites. Quite challenging physically and mentally (info overload). Other than that, I had a great time discovering Greece on this tour.

The itinerary was perfect. Got to enjoy the country side And the critical historical sites. What makes the trip is ensuring the travel director is knowledgeable. Our director was just that. Praise to all the experts, bus driver and the travel director. They all made you feel comfortable.

Our guide, Sapfo, was truly excellent. Without doubt the best group leader you could wish for. She was interested and engaged with everyone in the group. She was knowledgeable. She was super organized and nothing was a chore. Our group dinners every night were a big success. Her restaurant choices were excellent. Our driver, Georgiou, was also really great. He kept the Mercedes mini bus immaculate. He was a careful and considerate driver and you always felt safe even on the tight back roads of the Mani Peninsula. Itinerary is good except that Monemvasia should be included as part of the tour proper and Sparta dropped from the itinerary. Make sure you take the optional extra of visiting Monemvasia if offered. It is well worth it. Overall I would say the tour is best described as “very full on”. A lot of the ancient and medieval sites have many many steps and some of the stones are very polished from so many people stepping on them over thousands of years. So I would recommend wearing hiking shoes if you have them also also bringing walking poles if you have them. Both will help with climbs, of which there are quite a few as I say. Overall the accommodation was ok (but not brilliant) except for Hotel Galaxy (they need to axe Het Galaxy). The Pantheon City Hotel was the best. Our group got on well, and I think that was in large part due to our guide Sapfo.

The travel was a stellar experience. Exploring the history and culture of Greece along with the warmth and professionalism of Trafalgar’s director, driver and sharing with a diverse group of travelers made it a trip to treasure for a lifetime!

My wife and I had a great time on this Best of Greece tour. We visited all the places we had hoped to visit including the Acropolis, Cape Sounion, Corinth, Delphi, Epidaurus, Meteora, Mycenae, Nafplion, Olympia, and Thermopylae, among others. , our tour director, was outstanding- we learned a great deal about Greece during our tour and , our driver, was phenomenal at negotiating the narrow streets we frequently encountered. We covered a lot of territory during our eight day trip and came home with lots of wonderful pictures and memories.

A lovely trip from start to finish, great leader, good group and just loved the different Greek Islands. The itinerary was just right with plenty of free time for relaxing.
