The itinerary is great: you really do get to see basically the entire country, with very few exceptions. The coach is very comfortable and has a smooth ride. It includes USB charge ports at every seat, so you don't have to worry about your devices running out of juice. My only complaint would be the hotels. Yes, they were advertised as being three and four star hotels. But that has a VERY different meaning in France than it does in the US. All the hotel rooms were all clean and well-appointed, but some of the three-star rooms were just too small - there was barely enough room in these small rooms for our luggage. All-in-all, this tour was a great value for the money. However, I would love to make one change: bellhop service for an additional fee. The tour crams too much into too short of a time. The one drawback of that is that practically every day, you are taking your bags from the coach to your room, then having to bring them down the next day. It would be great if you could arrive at a location, get your room key, and go directly to your room; then, a bellhop would bring your bags to your room and set them up on the luggage rack/desk, etc., for you so you don't have to. Then, when you left the next day and went down to breakfast, you'd leave your bags outside your door, and the bellhop would take them down to the bus. I'd willingly pay an extra $10-20 per day for such a service. It would really improve the tour to not have to lug your bags all over the place practically every single day.
The itinerary was jam-packed, especially if you add the additional excursions. We went all over France and believe we covered the highlights. The tour met our expectations. The hotels were all clean and acceptable, a couple on the small side. The breakfasts were good. The provided dinners mediocre. Tour guide and bus driver and bus were all great!
it was really packed with good tours everyday
The tour guide has the patience of a Saint. She has a fabulous personality and her knowledge and commentary was brilliant. Each day she made sure where we could get fresh water and always directed us to the toilet facilities. Directions were always given in the places we stopped for our free time. Other tours don't give such an indepth look at France and I was really pleased with the tour I chose. The hotels were very good and the included breakfasts were excellent. The included dinners were also excellent. The driver was extremely helpful and the bus was immaculate every day. Very safe driver.
it was very busy on the go everyday
The itinerary is fantastic to see so much of France!
We knew that the standard of hotel wasn't going to be fabulous but expected the hotels to be well positioned within a reasonable distance to the main town but a couple were very far out and one was without air-conditioning (it's been up to 38° C)
Truly outstanding. We saw so many historical, beautiful and interesting places. Every time I turned around, there was something more amazing. Cost saver really packed so much into this tour. We had adequate time to explore and were given freedom to explore on our own. Coach was comfortable and we rotated seats each day. Every hotel was very clean and the breakfast buffets were fabulous with lots of delicious fresh fruit among other items.
Worth the time and cost.
Very busy, a lots of moving, mostly one night at each hotel. Ibis hotels were very basic, and most of the nights were there, the 2 hotels where we spent 2 nights were the worst - both had bad air quality in the rooms, hotel in Tours did not have AC in 30+ weather and rooms smelled like sewage. 2 of 4 Included dinners were very basic , we got undercooked chicken in Tours. It seemed that nothing was included - in 13 days we only had 2 included excursions, all was extras.
Itineraries are suitable, not to be hurry, still have own time to relax. Coach is clean, can charge mobile but I didn't connect WiFi while in the coach. Tour director and Coach Driver are friendly. Only Mercure Hotels are acceptable. Ibis Hotels are unacceptable, have small rooms and tiny bathrooms. There're not enough rooms to open 2 big luggages. I've reserved twin bed but Ibis Bordeaux gave me one double bed+one sofa bed and Ibis Deauville gave me one double bed.
Very reasonable price, but have to add extra for city tours.
Trip was great but hotels were far centre locations and Ex: Avignon was not even elevators for luggage’s
well worth the cost and time to do this trip
The tour is too rush compared with others we did with Cost saver, you spend 4-6 hours a day inside the buss to stay one hour outside visiting the places.
The itinerary was good but rushed. The coach was comfortable but the wifi was horrendous. Hotels were very poor and not always in desirable locations i.e. outskirts of the city especially in Paris. The Tour Director and Driver were fantastic. Here is the feedback I provided directly to Costsaver: Mecure Paris Porte D'Orleans - heavy set woman at front desk was not friendly at all. She didn't seem to like her job and it was reflected in her attitude. I had forgotten an item in my room which the tour director contacted them about but was not there for me when we returned at the end of our trip. This was extremely disappointing. The meal at the hotel in Avignon was not very good. Also an almond dessert was served to a guest deathly allergic to almonds. The hotel in Tours was very inefficient, the only hotel that did not have our keys labeled and ready for us. Also, staff entered my room ignoring the sign on the doorknob to not enter. This was an invasion of my privacy and a risk especially when none of the hotels on this tour had safes in the rooms for our valuables. I would strongly suggest better hotels are selected going forward which is feedback I share with friends and family, a major negative aspect to Costsaver tours. With regards to optional experiences, not all highlights listed were included in the experiences. One example is for Luxembourg gardens, it did not include mini liberty or bee hives... local specialists should be very clear on what is written in your itineraries so as not to disappoint when we do not receive what is paid for.
This tour was a great way to see France!! We were traveling daily but saw the country!!
