Rome, Florence and Venice are the stars of the show on the most incredible of Italy trips. This unforgettable trio features exploring the calli, ancient Roman ruins and the artistry of great masters. But that’s not all, as you’ll also get to dine with an Italian family in their beautiful Tuscan villa.
It was fast-paced but very manageable, and the food was to die for. Marina and Enzo were both excellent.
The itinerary covered everything that I expected: plus a bit more with the side trips The Tour Director, driver and local guides are all excellent.
Excellent tour. Touched all the historical places you needed to see, and there was enough free time to explore on your own or book excursions. O
The itinerary is very well planned. There may be necessary changes but all activities were achieved. There are plenty of extra activities if you choose to participate or just have time on your own to explore. This tour was a life long dream and I can’t say enough about our beautiful amazing Travel Director, she made us feel like family. And to our driver “The Magic Man”, you ROCK!!!
It was a very joyful experience. Our tour director was just awesome and very knowledgeable. I would love to have him again on another tour in the future.
Had a fantastic time enjoyed the bus trips .Credit must go to Gianmarco he was great .Knows his stuff very helpful and made the trip so enjoyable.
Great trip and people
Well planned and organised tour. Excellent tour guide. Thank you
Great experience and tour guide.
Trafalgar did a great job highlighting the best of Rome, Florence, Venice, and a few smaller town in between in this quick tour of Italy. It gave us a taste of what we like and how to go back for a more detailed look when we return in a few years. Itiniery was well planned, and I had nothing to worry about except what extra excursions we want to add and where for lunch and dinner. We ended up adding every excursion offered and they were all great. Dinners were at par of what I would have paid in that restaurants by ourselves, and they usually are in locations that has extra meaning, ie Michiavellis’s estate or under Roman bath. Say excursion such as Pompei and San Giaocarmi were quick spectacular. Lead tour guide Emma was friendly and very helpful, went out of her way to help us make some purchases as well as recommending restaurants for lunches and dinners. Driver was safe and made plenty of bathroom stops, and coach was in great condition. I would have like a bit nicer hotels - they tend to be quite smaller than what we are accustom to, but locations were very good. Airport pickup and drop off went smoothly, as well as luggage handling in hotels. I would use Trafalgar again for another country, but for Italy, Trafalgar gave us enough knowledge and comfort for me to feel safe to come back by ourselves.
Everyone was first class. our tour guide was awesome. Tried best to provide good tour in spirit of heat and large crowds.
Emma, our travel director made for the most magical trip. She led the group with knowledge and enthusiasm. We went to so many historical places and had the most amazing signature dinners. This trip is for the traveler who wants to see a lot of places in one vacation.
The itinerary was just what I was looking for: 3 days in Rome, 2 in Florence, and 3 in Venice. Especially 3 days in Venice unlike other trips that only offered 1 or 2 days in Venice. The optional excursions allow you both time and financial flexibility. [Pompeii, plus stops along the way to Pisa and Bologna.] Since it was 3 days/nights in a particular city, our Travel Director could work around "Monday closings" of some venues in order for us to visit those places when they were open. Our Tour Director was also very personable and took time to chat and get to know everyone on the tour to offer advice, and meet their needs, questions, or any such "angst." This was my 5th trip with Trafalgar Tours. I will plan more group trips with Trafalgar in the future. I also enjoyed touring and dining with my fellow travelers. Oh! Our bus driver was exceptional, too.
great trip and we saw so much with very knowledgeable guides. I learned so much!
Our guidewas great! She kept everything running smoothly, and on schedule. We saw so much in every city! Fabulous good, great travel companions, and individual tour guides! Memories that will last a lifetime! Wonderful bus driver, and comfortable rides on the bus, while touring cities. Hotel accommodations were very nice as well!
Well paced trip. The three major cities of Italy- Rome, Florence and Venice were in the correct order.
The tours are very fast paced and involve much walking. Not suitable for elderly or people who are mobility challenged. Some of the tour guides, although speaking English, spoke too fast and were not understandable.
We had never done a tour before, let alone been to Europe. This was on our bucket list as my wife is Italian. Our tour director was excellent. He made the trip fun and informative while handling the logistics. We would recommend and Trafalgar Tours highly!
Well coordinated with quality guides.
The itinerary was great, for my family was just right. We enjoyed the early starts and the extra time (personal) to explore and shopping. Our group guide, was superb!!!! and made every location we visited a great experience, providing a great deal of information allowing us to really enjoy the experience to the max.
An excellent introduction to Italy. The tour leader, was key to the success of this trip because of his extensive knowledge about Italy’s history and culture and his excellent speaking style. Also, his caring and compassion were instrumental in bringing the group together.
We visited Rome, Pompeii, Assisi, Florence, Tuscany, Bologna, and Venice. Our tour director, *personal info removed by Feefo* was great and he made sure everyone had fun and was included in the group. We had a really wonderful time.
The excursions were a huge additional cost. Although planned for in advance.
It would be great if certain things in the itinerary were clarified if they include going into the places or just going to the places and seeing them from outside. For example the tower of Pisa. I thought that we would be able to go inside but we were told by the tour director that tickets had to be purchased in advance or purchase there, wait in line and hope to get in before time was up to leave. Some of the things in the itinerary felt rushed. Not sure if I must've misunderstood that the things included in the itinerary included actually going into the places and not just seeing the places from outside or having to buy your own tickets to get in.
This trip met our expectations in every way! From our tour director, our driver, tour specialists, and the reservation team. This trip was a Wow and amazing! Very well organized. The hotels, restaurants, meals provided, cities and towns we visited were amazing! I will highly recommend Trafalgar to family members and friends and look forward to taking another trip with Trafalgar!
Lots of free time Could've used more time in Florence Day 1 was a lot to start with. We did choose the optional Piazzas & Fountains which was a lot in retrospect. Confusion about Colosseum visit. Wasn't sure we were going inside until tour director informed us on bus after Vatican City. Enjoyed all the town stops in-between cities. Excursions were diverse and enjoyable. Murano & Burano, Bologna, Machiavelli's estate were very much enjoyed.
Too many hours in each place was not necessary, the guides were a little difficult to understand sometimes and one never stopped talking throughout the whole tour. and more than one of us felt that way! Hotels were average to below average. Seems like they gave the tour people below average rooms unless you went in person to complain To the hotel desk and then you got something better which should've happened from the beginning! Let's face it, on a tour like this you live out of your suitcase, and there wasn't enough room in the room to open up two suitcases at the same time. Breakfast was good but group dinners were averaged to below average nothing I haven't made for myself in the last week! The bus was comfortable, and the bus driver was excellent. On tour from July 25 through August 2. They nickel and dimed you for optional tours, should've all been included.
This trip meets all the wishes of a first time Italy traveler. It hits the highlights in Rome, Florence and Venice with a few neat stops in between to break up travel days on the coach. Ideally, if you want to see more of Rome's historical spots, I'd suggest spending at least 2-3 days in the city prior to your Tour starting.
We saw all the highlights and also some hidden gems. Our tourguide was exceptional and very informative.
The itinerary covers a lot of territory in a short period of time. It is very busy and there is not a lot of down time. So, if you are someone who needs your rest, this may not be the right tour for you. But if you want to get maximum activity and value for your time and money, this is a wonderful tour.
I wish there was more time spent in some cities we visited. Sometimes felt rushed.
The itinerary was jam packed with great places to see. Area guides were fantastic, with immense knowledge, and were interesting to listen too. The optional excursions were great and gave us new experiences that, for some, we would have not known to even look for them.
The trip included all the sites we wanted to see and we added on additional excursions which we loved. We saw so much and loved every minute of it.
Our guide was amazing very organised
Saw so much history in just 10 days. But the best part were the guides that provided so much information.
Excellent well planned trip. Our Travel Director was excellent and delivered on every aspect of the trip. He made it a memorable experience!
The itinerary was fantastic! The best value for the money was being led through all the biggest tourist attractions in Rome by a local specialist who made it look so easy. I could never have navigated the chaos and lines the way the Trafalgar team did with such ease!
The incredible organization on this tour allowed us to see so much in a limited amount of time. All I had to know was where and when to meet every morning and I trusted the tour director to take care of the rest.
It was awesome but be prepaid to walk. It would be a struggle if you not healthy.
We liked getting an overview of several of the main cities in Italy - mainly, Rome, Florence, and Venice. We also enjoyed spending some time in smaller places such as Bologna, Assisi, Pisa, Murano/Burano, and we also were fascinated during our optional tour of Pompeii. Doing this many cities with this amount of time means that you are on the go a lot and we wanted to pack in as much as we could at each place. We did not take all of the optional experiences so as to have a little more time in some places to do our own exploring. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. If given a little more time, a stay in Bologna or Assisi would have been wonderful. The itinerary worked very well, though. We felt that the hotels were good and we were especially happy that we stayed in a hotel on a canal in Venice as opposed to being on the mainland. Being on the canal gave us a lot more time to explore this most unusual city.
Very in-depth and fast paced tour of many prominent cities and areas. Italy is a beautiful country and add to that many sites were built around 500 AD!! And the people, almost every person we met was welcoming, helpful, and wonderful. Whether employees of trafalgar, the hotels, the venues, the shops, or just travelers, most were outstanding and lovely. The only issue the whole week was the broken AC on the coach during a heat wave. Truly a once in a lifetime trip for us!! The friends and memories will last forever.
This is a great Itinerary.. It allows for the chance to get a taste of Italy from the south to the north since it explores many regions of the country.
The host was very rude. She had an issue with me and claimed that I was attacking her. I experienced an injury days before the trip and caused me to be a bit slower walking, climbing, etc. Instead of apologizing to me, she went to my wife and apologized to her about how she treated me. I would not recommend as a guide for others. I don't believe she talked to me again during the trip. Instead when I would ask questions, she would still only talk to my wife. This was our 4th Trafalgar trip and our last. I am completely turned off by the way I was treated
Wonderful trip, I could have done without Pisa. Our our director was amazing!
Our tour guide was fantastic and took time to listen to our concerns. The driver was patient and a safe driver.
This was an amazing trip!! Everything was planned perfectly and we just had to show up! Loved our travel director. He was so kind, knowledgeable and personal. We had a big group of 42 people and he was sure to make everyone feel special. Despite the crazy heatwave of 97 degrees and 80% percent humidity, all of the places we visited were interesting and beautiful. We visited Rome, San Gimignano, Assisi, Florence, Tuscan countryside, Pisa, Bologna and Venice. The hand picked local tour guides were very welcoming and informative. Love how all the tickets were booked ahead of time and we were able to cut the lines to get in to all the museums and attractions. We opted to do all the optional experiences which were great picks including Pompeii and 4-6 course meals of authentic Italy food and wines. Thanks for a memorable trip.
This itinerary is excellent in providing a traveler with a great visit to 3 of the wonderful cities in Italy. We spent 3 days in Rome, Florence, and Naples which seems like a lot of time, but there is so much to see in those 3 days that it proves to be fairly intense for a couple of mature adults (ages in the upper 60s and low 70s) as well as fairly intense for an 18 year old granddaughter. It was unusually hot for mid-June this year. Overall, the trip was awesome including our travel director , our driver , and the local guides. We saw the Vatican, Coliseum, and St Peter's in Rome, had two dinners in Tuscany, and were enamored by the beauty of Venice. We also went to Assisi, Pompeii, San Giananoto, Murano, and Burano.
We loved our trip, all we saw, and all we experienced! Our Trafalgar Tour Director was exceptional and made everything fun - I suspect few tour directors cook a dish for their tourists - did!
Very, very busy. We did see quite a bit but no time to rest at the beginning of our trip in Rome. But by the end of the trip, things slowed down. If you want to see what Italy has to offer, this is the right trip. Be aware though, tips and service fees for just sitting in a restaurant are everywhere. As our guide told us, "It's the Italy way". That was the most disappointing thing from our trip.
I loved seeing 3 totally different cities. was a great guide. He was so knowledgeable and helpful.
This tour had a nice blend of historical places and churches to see and still gave us time on our own to explore. Our tour director was the best! She was knowledgeable and made us feel like we were part of her own family!
Awesome adventure of all the highlights of Rome, Florence and Venice. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the local cuisine and way of life. He kept us informed at all times of any changes in our schedule. So thankful he knows the ropes- early departures so we did not have to wait in line. A perfect Mother /Daughter trip! Memories were made to last us a lifetime.
