The Porto to Lisbon trip was a wonderful combination of the coast, the country's history, the cuisine and of course fado. Great guide and driver/assistant.
Oriel was an excellent tour leader, briefing us well and providing a caring support. The restaurant recommendations ensured we had good food and the lunch picnics set up by our driver were excellent.
The trip was wonderful and very informative about the state of the environment along much of the Portugal coast between Porto and Lisbon. The tour guides (Oriol Marinez Riera and Paulo Freire) were excellent, and they took great care to make it a safe and delicious trip (lunches prepared by Paulo were healthy and fabulous). Everyone in the group got along very well, helped along by the upbeat and positive attitude infused by Oriol.
I really appreciated Oriol and how he conducted the tour. He was pleasant, encouraging, and handled any situations that came up with calm confidence. Overall the tour was relaxed and easy-going. I really liked how they arranged for lunches by collecting a modest amount for the support vehicle driver to purchase lunches to enjoy roadside.
Lovely trip with manageable cycling distances and great scenery. A few roads were rather busy. Hotels generally of a very high standard with good breakfasts although a couple of rooms were on the small side. All in all a really enjoyable holiday!
Very enjoyable .Friendly people and delicious local restaurants!
excellent service from start to finish guide needed to have notice board at airport and not rely on the phone mine was in airplane mode. good hotels guide was extremely good responsible conscientious and caring. driver was great and prepared wonderful lunches the way this was done could be replicated on other trips. 16 was alot of people for one guide to deal with, if something happened at the back and word didn't go forward, too much reliance on phones, if a large group is expected maybe have cycling mechanic to be the sweep. the paperwork and explanations accurate. transfers good
Excellent trip, Lucas was a fantastic group leader. Accommodation was great, ride was very scenic and mid-ride stops were well planned. Bikes could have been in better condition.
The 5 cycling days were well chosen in terms of variety and difficulty. The group bonded well and showed enthusiasm for the efforts of the leader Dejan. He and Paolo the driver provided a lovely environment both on and off the bikes. Evenings were lively and interesting with a great choice of restaurants. The 2 and 3 star hotels were excellent.
This really is a cycling 'holiday' with plenty of time spent on and off the bicycles. On a cycling day we enjoyed mostly quiet cycling lanes and paths, local cafes, picnics and local points of interest that our leader, Lucas, shared with us. There was great camaraderie within the group and the holiday was perfect for what I was looking for. I especially enjoyed the coastal scenery, and, in May, quiet seaside towns. It was remarkable how easy it was to get out of Porto along the river Douro to get our first glimpse of the sea. If you enjoy eating fish there are lots of opportunities to try many varieties in the local restaurants.
The leader and driver were both excellent. All the organisation ran smoothly and group members' comments and needs were taken into account. It was a very friendly and enjoyable group. I was surprised by the amount of resort ribbon development but glad to see there were still sand dunes. Highlights were visiting Aveiro, seeing the sections of wind turbines ready for shipment and seeing fish drying on racks on the shore.
I was very pleased with this bike tour. The itinerary took us along scenic inland routes and the sea coast. We were offered the option to have our support man prepare lunches each day. These were very well done and saved a lot of time compared to finding restaurants each day. Bikes were overall in very good working order. First 3 days were quite flat and very pleasant, but I was glad to have some good climbing days 4-5. We were lucky with near perfect weather and spring wildflowers. Also a great group of participants made for good fun each day. Do it!
Excellent guide. Fully supported trip. Well cared for on this trip.
Great trip, lots of cycling every day plus two great cities to explore.
