Catania 8-Day Tours and Trips

Sicily is an absolutely stunning destination - definitely recommend this trip for someone who has already seen the main cities in Italy and wants an easy way to get around the island. was an amazing tour manager who I wish I could have every trip and our driver was a legend too. The only two criticisms would be the night in Catania - it wasn’t really worth staying and it felt unsafe at times. An extra night in Taormina would be better. The second being that the hotel in Palermo was quite disgusting and dirty.

Great, comprehensive trip covering most of Sicily. From walking on Mt Etna, to sampling the best seafood, wine and coffee in charismatic historical towns dotted all around the island, it was definitely a trip to write home about!

The Colours of Sicily tour was exceptional. Our tour director kept everything fun . Even when faced with an emergency, she was able to keep us on track. The restaurants we visited during the tour were outstanding. We chose the optional excursions that were offered and are happy we did. Honestly, they should be included in the tour. My only disappointment was the first hotel called the Astoria Palace. The staff was great but the hotel itself was not in a good location. We had to walk quite a distance to the center of Palermo. The beds were like plywood. We arrived the day before the tour started and had to change rooms the day of the tour. I had contacted the hotel prior to arriving via email and they never got back to me. Fortunately was able to get the info I needed prior to our arrival. The staff was helpful and moved our luggage for us. It took Trafalager quite sometime to confirm the starting hotel. I called monthly and never got a straight answer. I was told to call back “ next month”. I finally got the confirmation after a final call 2 1/2 weeks prior to the tour. Fortunately I was able to get a reservation at the starting hotel ( even though it was not very good) on my own. Originally I booked a room close to the Garabaldi in the center of town. It would have been very difficult to change hotels to the Astoria Palace and would have cost more. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to see Sicily. Just be prepared to spend more for the excursions. They were exceptional.

This was a wonderful tour! Most of the hotels included a 2-night stay so the trip was more relaxes than some. Unlike mainland Italy, there we were rarely in crowds, and the other tourist were speaking Italian. The tour exposed us to the different culture and heritage of Sicily including why many Sicilians migrated to the US. The Make Travel Matter optional tours were great and the Sicilian food was a real treat.

Sicily is just beautiful. Great tour with Trafalgar. We went to places that some tourists would not find on their own. Good on board group. Trafalgar manage your bag pick up, it all runs smoothly. Great coach drivers. Very informative travel directors. I have travelled with Trafalgar eight times, always a good experience.

Trip was excellent from beginning to end. Excellent itinerary and accommodations. Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Massimo and Graziana are extraordinary with their communication and availability. A pleasure to deal with persons like these! Highly recommend!
