Catania Tours in April 2027

The Colours of Sicily tour was exceptional. Our tour director kept everything fun . Even when faced with an emergency, she was able to keep us on track. The restaurants we visited during the tour were outstanding. We chose the optional excursions that were offered and are happy we did. Honestly, they should be included in the tour. My only disappointment was the first hotel called the Astoria Palace. The staff was great but the hotel itself was not in a good location. We had to walk quite a distance to the center of Palermo. The beds were like plywood. We arrived the day before the tour started and had to change rooms the day of the tour. I had contacted the hotel prior to arriving via email and they never got back to me. Fortunately was able to get the info I needed prior to our arrival. The staff was helpful and moved our luggage for us. It took Trafalager quite sometime to confirm the starting hotel. I called monthly and never got a straight answer. I was told to call back “ next month”. I finally got the confirmation after a final call 2 1/2 weeks prior to the tour. Fortunately I was able to get a reservation at the starting hotel ( even though it was not very good) on my own. Originally I booked a room close to the Garabaldi in the center of town. It would have been very difficult to change hotels to the Astoria Palace and would have cost more. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to see Sicily. Just be prepared to spend more for the excursions. They were exceptional.

Your tour involves an intimate weaving of the Sicilian people and their lives and customs. We saw church celebrations ate special foods, saw volcanic activity, toured organic farms and gardens and much more!

This was a wonderful way to see Sicily. We enjoyed all the sights. We did all the optional excursions and were very happy with all of them. We especially loved Cefalu, Trattoria Il Delfino in Sferracavallo, Erice, the Marsala winery, the chocolate tasting in Modica, the Aromas of Sicily at Enrico and Rita Russino's herb farm, Taormina, Savoca, Mt Etna, and the farewell dinner at the agriturismo.

Thanks to our very well organised leader Laura, we managed a complete tour of the island in a week. Greek, Roman and Norman sites told the rich history of Sicily. The trip to Mont Etna and the walk in the national park covered the beauty of the island. Our group was made up of lovely people which added to the fun

What a wonderful week offering a great overview of Sicily, its culture, history and people, not to mention food and pastries! We packed so much into the week, always something new and unexpected, each day having its particular wow factor.

Well, I'm a science teacher and I got to see LAVA, like ACTUAL LAVA spewing from the top of a volcano! We got to spend time in places that are far enough out in Italy that it did not feel overly touristy. What I love about all G trips are the adventurous travelers who take these tours. This is my third tour with G and everyone comes to them with a sense of fun and adventure. Also, we were on Mt. Etna for a rare event- cloud rings coming off the top. It made international news and we saw it in person!
