Catania Tours in Summer

The tour was planned well by Trafalgar. The itinerary showed us many places in Sicily to give a comprehensive view of the island. I wished that the hotels were closer to the city centers of all the towns visited so that you had the option if you wanted to explore the town on your own after the day's itinerary was over. That was quite disappointing as many hotels were far away from the city center and it took anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to reach a city center. This made us feel like we were stuck in the hotel for many nights of the trip when we wished we could have explored more.

The travel guide was amazing. He was not only well versed in the history of the sites we saw in Sicily, but so knowledgable in the current status of Sicily. He gave the people on the tour insight into the Sicilian culture, people, and food. He loves his job and takes enormous pride in his work. He exudes italian culture with his great story telling and authentic love for italy and people. Thank you Trafalgar.

This is a perfect trip to do something more in-depth than other Contikis. This trip is modular, and the Real Sicily component is the last part of the trip, so there may be people from early components. The pace was relatively laid-back, and you had ample time to explore each town/city. The included and add-on experiences were great (my favourite was the boat cruise in Cefalu, where we got to swim off the boats at sunset). The farewell dinner was quite overpriced for the quality of the food we received (we were told the main was going to be lamb- it was a quarter of a hamburger patty sliced up). The quality of the hotels was of a higher standard than other Contikis I've done and they were generally in central, convenient locations. Our trip manager was terrific, provided plenty of recommendations, and was friendly and approachable.

The itinerary was very thorough, we felt like we saw a lot of Sicily and also the main parts, we were given a lot of free time to also enjoy, and the extra experiences were good also

This was an absolutely amazing tour. Loved every minute from start to finish. The tour director was the best TD I’ve ever had. She was always available, she was extremely knowledgeable, she was generous & kind & just a fabulous person. Could not recommend this tour enough.

Our recent trip to Sicily was fantastic we did an 8 night tour with Trafalgar starting in Palermo and ending near Taormina we saw + experienced places I'm sure we would not have seen had we travelled independently. Our tour guide was just wonderful so organised , fun + went out of her way to make sure our trip was the best it could be our Driver was a wizard on the narrow road's often receiving a cheer for his navigational skills we always felt safe ,the bus was new very comfortable and air-conditioned with a toilet on board not that it was needed as we had regular comfort stops along the way.. Hotels were great comfortable and had the added advantage of a pool as it was very hot when we were in Sicily. Time spent in places we felt was enough + with the schedule we had we didn't really feel rushed sure a little extra at times would have been nice but it was overall ok . gave out little surprises along the way which made us feel very special ,one thing though we thought a little overpriced was the add on experiences but in saying this the exchange rate for our money from Aussie $ to Euros was a deciding factor so we only did one of the extras , overall we had a wonderful fun time and would recommend this great tour with Trafalgar + we will definitely consider another organised tour somewhere else in the future.
