Take in the highlights of the south part of 220km-long 'Corfu Trail'
Ascend the second highest peak in Corfu - Agli Deka
A beautiful island, which we walked in perfect weather. I think the North trail probably has more dramatic views but the South is still beautiful on this very green island, with its ancient olive trees, gorgeous villages, deserted beaches and delicious food. A coffee stop was factored in each day too. But oh the Greek toilets...!
Really enjoyed walking The Corfu trail south. The route was varied and interesting and took in the smaller villages in more remote areas. It was just the right pace with adequate stops. Spiros was very kind and funny and extremely knowledgeable about Corfu and nature. There would not be The Corfu trail without Spiros so feel pleased to have had this experience. One of the accomodation choices along the route needs reviewing as it was basic and didn't work well. A very nice week with a great group.
Really impressed with how well everything was organised - seamless airport transfers and simple but very clean, spacious accommodation with staff that cater to your every need. The tour leader was brilliant (he knows the area & understands the trails) and all the places visited were stunning! Everyone who loves walking, travelling & exploring the local culture should go on this trip!
Really enjoyed the holiday. Accommodation levels a bit mixed. Some really lovely, others a bit basic. Our tour leader was excellent. Very knowledgeable and organised, but a lot of fun too.
This was a great trip. I was a little worried about the walking distance each day, but Spiros made it very relaxing and interesting. Stopping on the way to explain different things to us, he was passionate about his beautiful country.
Great trip, a very varied trail which goes point to point across the south of the island so you get a sense of achievement whilst experiencing coastline and unspoilt villages in the interior. Excellent guide who is very knowledgeable passionate about the island, local guides make all the difference and Spiros is one of the best. Great food and time to swim and relax as well as full days of walking. Be prepared to walk the distances on this trip, it's not technically difficult but get used to walking this far before you go.
Everyone in the Explore office was knowledgeable and helpful - they went above and beyond to give details of the trip and discuss its suitability and logistics. And a great bonus - the phone was answered quickly without endless waiting. I had been apprehensive about my ability to walk quite so far for the full 6 days, but it was perfectly paced and plenty of time for coffee and lunch stops. The scenery was varied and the villages delightful. The highlight of the trip was having our guide, Spiros, who spoke great English, was passionate about his island and the trail, hugely knowledgable about the local flora and fauna, and on top of all that, funny and kind and intent on ensuring that everyone had a great time.
Thanks for running this trip between lockdowns. We really needed it. Getting away from Zoom, laptop and all those IM was just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely be looking for something similar when this lockdown finishes.
Really good trip made even better by the current circumstances. Great varied walking. Nice remote beaches. Lovely food and a really nice group of people to share it with.
Southern Corfu’s enchanting landscapes are yours to discover on this 8-day walking tour, ideal for hikers seeking both challenge and cultural immersion.
