I went on Salkantay Trek and the experience was absolutely incredible. Our guide, Edward was phenomenal throughout, answering all our questions and teaching us about the history, geography, nature and culture of that incredible place. I've never had a better tour guide anywhere I've been. The whole experience of Salkantay wouldn't have been possible without the amazing Chef Sebastian and our porters, Cesar, Jairo, David as well as our horseman Gabriel. Sebastian cooked the most incredible meals, we basically had a banquet for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The porters not only helped with all the cooking but also set up our campsite each night, making sure we were comfortable, safe and able to continue the trek each day. I will be recommending this tour company to everyone I know, and if you're traveling to the Cusco region I don't think there's a better company you could go with.
Well prepared Salkantay trek 5d/5n zone with Saul G as a guide and Gregorio as a chef and Cesar and Walter as porters. Good food all the way and amazing places to sleep such as the hobbit houses and the star gazing houses the very first night. Bonus was the lomo saltado cooking class and the visit of a coffee farm.
Did the 5D/5N Salkantay hike. Amazing crew and very well prepared! Edward did a great job as a tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable about the mountains and surrounding areas, the history and about Peru in general. Gregorio was an AMAZING cook. Half of the trip was the food honestly. Highly recommend them! Unforgettable views and overall experience. The challenge is super worth it! The porters Pablo and Henry also did heroic work carrying our stuff.
I had an incredible time on the 5 day/5 night Salkantay trek with Edward as a guide. The views on this hike are amazing, but the best part was truly our guide, Edward, and our chef, Gregorio. It was my birthday during the hike and they planned multiple birthday surprises. The views at the campsites are out of this world and the food was more than we could ever expect - I can’t understand how they managed to make such delicious meals while camping, and carrying around all the ingredients. Edward was so knowledgeable of Inca culture, history, and traditions, and was also great conversation along the way. He was incredibly responsible with all of us, made sure we were all comfortable and knew where we were going and what was going on. I can’t recommend this trek enough, and if you can get Edward, you’ll have a blast!
I had the most incredible Salkantay Trek with guides Joel and Saul G. It was so organized and adventurous and ran without any problems. Herman and his kitchen crew made the most amazing meals that were different every day and the porters were HEROES. I will absolutely recommend this tour company to anyone going to Peru in search of a fun experience.
We just finished our Salkantay trek and it was the most amazing experience. I can’t rave enough about this tour operator, so much thought and detail has gone into each trip, from small details like a hot water bottle at night when it was cold, warm water to soak our feet, to the most amazing meals and beautiful camp/ sleeping spots. Our guide Raul was seriously amazing!! He was so knowledgeable, easy and comfortable to spend the days with, he had us all laughing and was so thoughtful, considerate and kind. Raul was one of the main reasons our trip was so amazing and I can’t wait to bring my family and friends back. The scenery along this trek is unreal, the stops this trek make were perfection. I can’t recommend this tour enough. Best week ever!!
What a phenomenal experience on the Salkantay hike with this travel company I want to thank our guide Edward who was incredible on the whole trek, the porters Cesar, Jairo, David, Gabriel who were just super-humans! They were all so friendly and supportive throughout the whole trip. Our chef Sebastian was somehow conjuring 5* meals, three times a day to keep us going and it was always something to look forward too. I cried when I said goodbye and thanked them as I honestly don’t know if I could have made it without all their support. This company clearly takes care of its workers and it’s worth paying a bit more to book with them as they really do respect all their staff. So worth it and highly recommend!
"Just finished the 5D/5N Salkantay Trail with this company. This is a well organized tour/trekking company with solid logistics. Buy a tour and they take care of the rest. However, I was must say they seemed to be cutting corners to save money. Examples: we ate lunch in an old damaged tent that was falling over and torn, we camped below Salkantay pass in a pasture where we ate in a mud hut/animal shelter without lights (guides used two headlamps to light the cold, drafty space), our personal gear didn't follow us one night- it seemed they didn't want to hire the proper number of porters to carry our small duffel bags. That same night there were no foam sleeping pads for us, only the air pads for those who rented them. That night my air pad wouldn't hold air so I slept on the uneven ground. They also needed another porter or two, as the few people they hired were overworked and unable to keep up with the timing due to understaffing, resulting in delayed meals and having to run often. I still give 4 stars for the kind guides, smooth booking, and quality tour of Machu Picchu... but I do feel corners are being cut compared to other guide companies that put their clients into nicer sleeping/dining structures."
We just finished our 5D/5N hike on the Salkantay trail with our fabulous guide, Ivan and our amazing cooking team, Alberto, Luisa, and Waldir. Our week on the trail has been a beautiful experience that our family will always remember! The Andean mountains are incredible! Our guide, Ivan, was very knowledgeable and kind and patient! He taught us so much about Incan culture and history and local flora and fauna. He took wonderful care of our family! We also feel so grateful for the incredible food prepared each meal by our chefs and for the kindness of our porters and horsemen. We love this local travel expert!
This tour operator was amazing from start to finish. The process was so smooth and well organised. The guides (Nilton and Adolfo) were the best guides I’ve had when travelling - they have so much knowledge on the Inca sites, trail, flora, fauna, and local area. They made us feel like family. As well as the guides, the porters (lead by Juan), and the chef (Mario) went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, safe and happy. The food was excellent, especially being vegetarian, there were so many delicious options and snacks. The tents, sleeping bags and equipment is a high standard. I would 100% recommend this company - you will be very lucky if you get Nilton and Adolfo as guides!
