I felt that I got to see the real island of Iceland. We saw areas that were not visible to those on cruise ships. We were experiencing Iceland 24 hours a day.
Great trip. is a fabulous guide.
The wide variety of natural beauty is truly amazing - waterfalls, lava fields, glaciers, icebergs, geysers, lagoons, mountains, and more. One of a kind country, shouldn't be missed.
Best sites were a couple of the optional tours-maybe include them Boat ride thru the icebergs and the lava show
Guests enjoy the wonderful diversity of the Iceland countryside immersed in the unique culture. As always Insight provided comfortable accommodations and took us to great places and good restaurants. Our driver was a pleasure to travel with, our director was knowledgeable and personable. In Reykjavík, the Perlan museum and Flyover Iceland are not to be missed,
The island is rich with many topographical gems. The glaciers were a wonder. The geysers were majestic. In all it's a once in a lifetime experience
Well organized and we hit some very great sites. The waterfall we walked under and the iceberg lagoon were hi-lights. Food was great and accommodations were excellent
Loved what we saw and did. Sometimes felt that time allowed at specific views were not adequate, taking into account time to get off and on the bus. Time of daily departures were good. Planned dinners were good although sometimes would have liked more menu options. Liked that generally 2 meals/day were included in tour price. It was stated in your literature that euros were acceptable then found out krona required.
Pretty rushed. Travel Director often gives unrealistically short time to cover a sight.
It’s an excellent itinerary that encompasses the entire country during the summer.
The sights were great. There was a lot of travel time between stops some days.
A fascinating country! Well worth a visit. This tour is a great way to see it.
It is a great way to see all of Iceland in a short time. You will get to see the land and get to know the history and storytelling of these robust people. has adopted Iceland as her second home. She has given me an appreciation of the culture and people of this rugged land. You can tell that loves this land and knows how to make you enjoy the tells that are being told. This is a trip that you are living from your suitcase I suggest you pack for each day. I put in each baggie a pair of underwear socks and tshirt and use a pair of pants for 2-3 days. Have layers on. I used 3 layers. You can take off a layer. Pack a hat and gloves and water proof coat. Also 2 pairs of walking shoes. My one pair got soaked so I could use the other buy a usb power cord the bus only has usb. The hotels do not have air conditioning and their windows that open are very small. My friend and I were thinking of doing this same itinerary by driving ourselves. I am so glad we did not because we would not have seen all the wonders we saw because the roads are winding and narrow at times so you have to concentrate on the road and not the view. Also the cost of gas, food and lodging in Iceland is expensive compared to going on this trip. our buss driver was fantastic he navigating around Iceland was the best I have ever seen. He got into and out of tight spaces. He also gave us a lesson in his language everyday. loves Iceland and you can tell by her enthusiasm and knowledge. This is her second home Hotels - Iceland does not have air conditioning anywhere. Their windows are tiny. There was just one hotel I did not like. We stayed there 2 nights you could not shut off the heat and my bathroom flooded when I used the shower. The shower drain looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The garbage that came it! The one thing I need Insight to realize is that people have allergies Do not ask people to bring their perfumes and cologne with them. Also the hotels should be using detergents that are free and clear of scents. My friend has asthma attacks from these scents. I loved this itinerary. It gave me the best look into Iceland the land and people I would recommend it to anyone and have done so already
It was a great bus tour. Both the tour operator and bus driver were fantastic. I would recommended to my friends
It's an ambitious itinerary. You move a bit everyday, but never too much to be uncomfortable. Restroom breaks are frequent. W/o realizing you are traveling as far as you are, you do make a large ring around the whole country seeing the incredible diversity and beauty. There are a wide variety of landscapes and activities.
Our days were well-planned and jam-packed with a variety of interesting stops. Every day a waterfall, each unique and awe-inspiring.
A busy tour. No sleeping in, but you see a lot of Iceland. We did some extras, and so glad we did. A country like no other.
Hotels in Reykjavik and Borgonens to far out of the centre of these towns Especially Borgarnes as it was on a golf course , with no restaurants nearby
I think we experienced as much as possible in 9 days
