I had a great time on this trip. We were lucky to see the Northern Lights on 2 different occasions. Being able to see the horse farm and hit 2 different springs was great especially the Sky Lagoon was fantastic. Our tour guide was great and would love to go on a tour with him again!
The itinerary is well planned and gives one a good insight into Iceland, the people and culture. One gets the feel of innovation and pride of the Icelandic people, who face numerous natural challenges and how they have adapted. A truly beautiful country. We were lucky to have as a guide. He has such a great knowledge of Iceland and is a natural when it comes to his people skills. What a great character, he made the tour.
Great balance of planned activities, free time to explore, and other options if you wanted to participate in more opportunities. Our tour guide made the trip more enjoyable. He was so knowledgeable and organized. He paid attention to all the small details. The bus driver was great as well. We were glad that we went a day early to catch up on sleep and get acclimated to Reykjavík and the time difference. The bus transportation requires every person to have their own credit card account number. We tried to use our visa twice and the payment was declined.
Lots of variety. Not just waterfalls and landscape, we saw many other things and learned the history of Iceland. We especially enjoyed the Cave tours. I thought the food was delicious but often the dinner meat portions were way too big for me to eat it all! We loved our tour guide - he was so knowledgeable about everything. We loved our bus driver too - .
We saw the lights several times. Our tour guide knew where to go to see them so we were always successful. The itinerary looks us to very interesting places to learn about the people and history of the island. I highly recommend it.
I felt that I got to see the real island of Iceland. We saw areas that were not visible to those on cruise ships. We were experiencing Iceland 24 hours a day.
