The Best of the Andes trip is a 10-day odyssey through Peru’s most iconic destinations, perfect for both adventurous young adults and seniors. From the mystical Sacred Valley and the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu to the dramatic depths of Colca Canyon, this journey highlights the region’s breathtaking landscapes and ancient cultures. Witness the floating Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca, where legends come to life, and explore the vibrant city of Arequipa.

day 1 - Lima

Say hello to Lima as your private transfer whisks you from the airport to your hotel.

day 2 - Lima – Arequipa

Arrive in Arequipa and private transfer to your selected hotel.

Today you will go on a city tour of Arequipa. Your guide will help you read between the lines of the guidebooks as you're shown around the Cayma and Yanahuara districts of Peru's White City.

Later, you'll drop by the colourful Santa Catalina Convent and the downtown area.

day 3 - Arequipa – Colca Canyon

Venture to Colca Canyon, passing through a wilderness of protected national reserves and llama fields on the way. Stabbing 10,725 feet into the Earth's crust, the canyon is one of the deepest in the world.

day 4 - Colca Canyon – Chivay – Puno

Continue to explore the canyon, visiting the towns of Yanque and Maca, where the clock seems to have stopped and Peruvian traditions are strong.

Stop at Cruz del Condor to take in the depth of the canyon and to catch a glimpse of the condors that glide above its walls. Later, you’ll visit Antahuilque, to see the pre-Inca terraces, before taking the Tourist Bus to Puno where you’ll transfer to your chosen hotel.

Arrival in Puno and private transfer to your selected hotel.

day 5 - Puno – Lake Titicaca – Puno

Tour Lake Titicaca, one of the largest lakes in South America. Take in the toy town scenes of the Uros islands, where floating villages have been made from reeds. Later, you'll have a homemade lunch on Taquile Island.

day 6 - Puno – Cuzco

Traverse the Sun's Route trail from Puno to Cuzco using the shared Tourist Bus. Breaks in the journey will take you to archeoloigcal sites and there will be a stop for lunch in Sicuani.

day 7 - Cuzco

Embark on a guided tour of Cuzco, once the big smoke of the Incan civilisation. Take in the main plaza with its towering Colonial Cathedral and stop by the Santo Domingo Convent and the ancient Incan sites of Sacsayhuaman, Quenco and Tambomachay.

day 8 - Cuzco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

Tour the Sacred Valley. Thanks to its fertile soils, this place was the lunchbox of the Incan civilisation. Among the crops grown here was maize. Your guide will show you the ruins of Incan settlements like Ollantaytambo and Pisaq before taking you to the weaving centre at Awanacancha.

In the afternoon you'll catch the train to Aguas Calientes.

day 9 - Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Wake early to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu.

Once the day has dawned, embark on a guided tour of Machu Picchu. At 2,430 metres above sea level, this city was the attic of the Incan empire, but as your guide will show you, the citadel had everything from temples and palaces to ritual baths. For an extra cost you can hike to the top of Huyana Picchu – the incisor-shaped mountain that bites up from the ground at the far end of the citadel.

day 10 - Cuzco – Lima

Arrive in Lima and take a private transfer to Lima center.

Take a guided tour to get the inside track on Peru's capital city. You'll stop by the main plaza, the Presidential Palace, the chilling catacombs of San Francisco Church, and the Park of Love at Miraflores before departing for the airport on your private transfer.
