Discover the quieter charms of the Amalfi Coast on this off-season walking holiday, where local culture and dramatic landscapes take center stage. The Amalfi Coast Walking - Coastal Hotel tour, starting and ending in Naples, offers eight days of leisurely and moderate grade hikes through towns like Positano, Vietri Sul Mare, and the picturesque villages of Maiori or Minori, your cozy home base for the week.
Stroll scenic coastal trails to traditional fishing villages, ascend stone stairways to Ravello via the fragrant Path of the Lemons, and enjoy rural life in Tramonti. Along the way, indulge in local flavors with visits to a lemon farm and tastings at a village winery. For history buffs, optional daytrips to Pompeii and Herculaneum provide deeper insight into the region’s ancient past.

day 1Join trip at Naples Airport, transfer to seafront hotel in Maiori
Naples International Airport (NAP) is our closest airport. We offer two complimentary transfers from the airport to our hotle in Maiori. The first will be at 11.15 am (to join this one, your flight should arrive no later than 10.45 am), and the second is at 7.30 pm (to join this one, your flight should arrive no later than 7.00 pm). Most of our clients arrive in time for the first transfer, so the later one at 7.30 pm doesn't always run. If you know you'll be arriving later and would like to use that transfer, let us know in advance so we can make sure a vehicle is arranged for you. After clearing immigration and collecting your baggage from the baggage hall, head to the 'Welcome Area' kiosk in the arrivals hall where your driver will meet you holding a branded signboard. As we need to arrange the transfer vehicles some time in advance and to help us monitor flight arrivals, if you have not booked your flights through us you must let us know your flight details and which transfer you would like to join at least 30 days before the start of your trip. If you do not tell us these details, we'll assume that you're travelling on the earlier transfer. There may not be room on the later private bus for you, in which case you'll need to take a taxi at your own expense - this costs in the region of €160 to €250 and increases as it gets later in the evening. If you plan to arrive later than the second transfer, you'll need to make your own way to the accommodation. If you don't wish to take either of the included transfers and will be making your own way to meet the group at the agriturismo, please tell us in advance so the tour leader does not spend time looking for you at the airport. The drive to the Amalfi Coast usually takes around an hour and 15 minutes. Our base here is the three-star Hotel Sole, a small hotel run by a mother and daughter team, located right on the seafront in Maiori. The hotel's comfortable, en-suite, sea-facing rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors (there is an elevator) and all have either a terrace or balcony. The hotel has a restaurant, with pizza oven, on the ground floor and there's a terrace with stunning views on the 6th floor. Tonight, we'll enjoy a welcome supper and your trip leader will brief everyone on the week ahead.

What a fabulous trip! The Amalfi coast is stunning and our guide Matteo was exceptional. Definitely recommend going here in the off season, less tourists and weather was comfortable for walking. An incredible off-peak / low season trip with fewer crowds and cooler temperatures allowing you to enjoy the real Amalfi Coast! The hotel, right on the Maiori seafront, is perfectly located as a base for the trip. The walks were at a leisurely and relaxed pace with frequent stops to learn the history of the region and to take photos and with plenty of time to enjoy and explore the towns on the Amalfi Coast, although be prepared to tackle the many stairs! The trip was made all the more memorable by our absolutely fantastic Explore leader, Matteo Giordano, a resident of Tramonti, who shared the real Amalfi Coast with us! One of the highlights was an incredible homemade lunch in the hills of the Tramonti valley. Highly recommend doing the optional day trip to Herculaneum and Pompeii. This is a view of the real Amalfi Coast that many do not get to experience: one not to miss!
A fantastic tour which surpassed expectations and was thoroughly enjoyable. Well planned with great locations, incredible views and lovely walks. Our guide Matteo was a delight - excellent in every respect and really took the tour to another level. He also did a very good job managing the different ability and fitness levels of the group. I would certainly recommend going in the off season - it was immediately apparent how busy the Amalfi coast gets and doing it at this time made for a much more pleasant experience. Hotel was very well located, rooms clean, bright and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Only the evening meals could do with improvement. Overall a great tour that I would not hesitate in highly recommending.
Mateo our guid was excellent and allowed the group to move at its own pace. Hotel location was good but rooms a bit stark. Bathroom good. Food in hotel could have been more exciting. Good to have day off doing Pompeii and Herculaneum
