Honest insights from past guests on our Cruise Croatia tours

We had a great time, Dani was an immense part of that and she should be recognized for that. Weather wasn't the greatest but it didn't stop everyone from having a great time. One issue during the trip, credit by Insight was much appreciated. Have already made recommendations to all friends about how great the trip was.

Border crossings can be a challenge and should be investigated prior to departing on the excursions that will include them. 2–4-hour delays are unacceptable and absurd. You can't control the countries you travel to BUT you can find out the current situation at the borders and inform the customers prior to departing on the excursion.

This Balkan Delight tour opened my mind, and my heart, to an area of the world that I knew very little about. The professionalism and genuine enthusiasm displayed by Dario, our very skilled driver, and Hannah our amazing Travel Director, along with the very knowledgeable Local Specialists, brought each city, town, site we visited to life! From Zagreb all the way to Kotor each site was truly 'magical'. It would be very difficult to pick 'the best' as each stop had its own beauty and charm. The many waterfalls of Plitvice Lakes were amazing, Rastoke was a scene from a fairy tale or a Disney movie, Hvar was exciting, even with the ferry ride, the Dubrovnik Old Town Wall with breathtaking views, Mostar with its charming bridge and crazy 'bridge jumpers' was a sight to see. There was no sunset on our Sunset Cruise, nevertheless Hannah was able to ensure that we were able to experience the awe and beauty of Old Town Dubrovnik at night, a sight we would otherwise have missed, Quite magical. Even with all of these 'adventures' my personal best with being welcomed to have dinner with a Bosnian mom and her three children in her very home. She was very gracious, informative, intelligent and provided us with some very personal, meaningful insights on live in Sarajevo. This was truly the highlight of my tour and an experience that I will never forget. Although this tour was only 10 days long, it was filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Once again, Trafalgar made it happen!

Personally I felt that the included dinners were not so good. Optional ones were better. Most disappointed one was Movenpick Hotel. What does name Movenpick associate to? Ice cream/ gelato, right! Nothing of that sort is given by the hotel. The infused water wasn’t change since the day we checked in. We stayed for 2nights. 😒

Good cross section of optional tours. Small group was great. Amount of time spent travelling in the bus each day was just right. Comfort and hygience of bus excellent. Could have easily done with another day in Dubrovnik as a marathon was on one morning and another morning a race around the wall was on. Both mornings we could not go into the town as it was blocked of and buses were not running. We did have optional tours on but if you did not want to do them alas you could not go into town and had to stay at the hotel.

There was a good mix of cities, islands and rural regions to see. I particularly loved the islands of Korcula and Hvar, the Plitvice lakes, Postojna caves, the seaside town of Opatija and the day we spent in Kotor in Montenegro. As well, there were wonderful experiences at night when we attended some of the Konobas (authentic Croatian dinners). They were all different and interesting to talk to the hosts and their families. We also visited some wineries and the wine was good. We also sampled the Rakija, a Croatian brew that burnt the throat in its pure (medicinal?) form, but was very drinkable when cherry or other flavours were added. I loved the whole tour!
