Croatia Adventure Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Adventure Croatia tours

Croatia is beautiful. We tended to stop to have lunch, coffee, and dinner at beautiful seaside locations. Our leader, Nela, couldn't have been better, nor could our support person, Zoran. One hotel, where we spent two nights, had an amazing view. The breakfasts were plentiful. We had two very challenging rides, and four easy ones. The routes were well chosen. This was one of the best vacations that I've ever had.

The Dalmatian coast was beautiful! So nice to go on a bike ride and just follow the leader, no worries about where to go, you’re never lost! We stopped at some beautiful spots for coffee, lunch and for free time. I really enjoyed the breakfast every morning, the breads are amazing! The tomatoes and vegetables were so good. My only complaint was hotel BALENTA. SKOLA, the room had a very bad odor, the front desk person was extremely rude when I asked her if I could, please have toilet paper and towels since they were not in our room. No one was at the front desk from 7:00 pm till 1230 when I went to bed… we stayed at hotel RIVA the night before which is a five minute walk away, I would highly recommend moving the group to that hotel in the future.

Nela - calm, aware, clear, caring, an excellent leader and good company. Bozo - as we nicknamed him, an excellent mechanic, our bikes always ready for us, any problems sorted, always punctual and attentive and good fun. A well balanced itinerary, allowing for those who wanted a bit more. I should have booked the extra day as alas we didn't get to explore Dubrovnick old city. Thank you for another very special explore. Sue

Our leader Nela was exceptional. Responsible , caring and proactive. It rained one day and she and Bozo the mechanic researched alternative rides for us when the planned route would have been dangerous. High praise for Bozo too who cared for us and our bikes to the highest standard.

My wife and I eally enjoyed the Historic trip across 5 countries. Our Europamundo guide from Bulgaria to Dubravnik, Ms Bilyana Shirokanska was a very caring guide. She made sure the oldest and the only English speaking couple were looked after well, that we undeestood everything and did not get lost.

Loved this trip. Dalmatian Coast exceeded my expectations - beautiful. The tour leader, David and driver/support, Boja were great, and had safety at the forefront of their minds. They were fun, engaging and made a huge effort to ensure that we were all enjoying ourselves, and doing what we wanted to do and had what we needed. Nothing was over-egged. It all struck the right balance for me. I liked the fact that David allowed the group to make their own decisions in terms of frequency of group meals, levels of tipping etc. Cycling at times was tough, but if you have a decent level of stamina and fitness, then should be OK. If in doubt, just opt for an e-bike and then no problem in getting up those hills. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip - one of my favourites actually and very lucky with the Group - everyone was great and all from different countries. Huge fun - thank you David, Boja and everyone on this trip.

Travel tips for adventure tours in Croatia

  • Roads in Croatia can be quite dangerous due to their unexpected curves and old pavements. If you’re opting for the EuroVelo 8 Cycling Route, wear a reflective vest and beware of reckless drivers.
  • Learning a few words in Croatian will help you a great deal on your Croatian adventure tour, especially when visiting less touristy areas where people don’t always speak English.
  • Make sure to bring cash with you at all times, as small stores in remote areas as well as street vendors usually don’t accept card payments.
  • Watch out for the three venomous snakes found in the country: the horned viper, the European viper, and the meadow viper. They can be easily recognized by the zig-zagging stripes on their backs. Better yet, book an adventure group tour in Croatia for safety.
  • If going for a dive, make sure to pay attention to avoid stepping on a sea urchin or getting in contact with other animals that may cause skin irritation and pain, such as jellyfish and muraena, a poisonous fish. If you need medical assistance, call +385 194.
