Croatia Guided Tours

A varied trip through 4 countries, of which 2 were new to me. A good combination of history, culture and towns to see. Two optional boat trips were taken by the entire group, and given much lack of an alternative, should really be part of the official trip. Dusan, the tour leader was enthusiastic and helpfull throughout. Highlights for me were the cities of Sarajevo, Mostar and Dubrovnik. It should be noted that in June, the weather was very hot, and should be taken into consideration.

This was a really good tour with some lovely walks. Walks are manageable for anyone with reasonable fitness used to doing some walking. Karlo was a brilliant tour leader. He looked after the group really well, very knowledgeable, told us lots of info about Croatia and made fabulous food recommendations. I would advise an extra night in Zagreb to start and extra nights in Split at the end. Hotels were all very nice. I did not get chance to have dinner in the restaurant at Hotel Puntjar in Zagreb but heard food was great. Only slight disappointment for me is we did not go the falls in Krka where you can swim.

This was just a beautiful and most enjoyable first-time tour with Explore. The tour leader, Tomislav, was excellent, combining very efficient organisation and the knowledge to answer all our questions with a great sense of humour. The places we visited were stunning, accommodation was just right and food was lovely.

This was a great trip. Croatia is so varied. The walk around the Pllitvice Lakes National Park was one of the most beautiful in the world with the turquoise green and blue lakes. We had a free day in Zadar which is another lovely place and hearing the Sea Organ had been on my bucket list for a long time. Our guide, Carlo, really went out of his way to make sure we got the best out of the trip.

Karlo the tour guide was extremely good. He was exceptional and catered more than I had expected in every way. He shared his knowledge about local history, his experiences and his food recommendations were awesome! Croatia is beautiful very scenic and the hiking trails were pretty cool. It was a unique experience and the best hiking trip for me. Perfect itinerary and good breakfast every morning. 😊

My wife and I have traveled extensively with Insight Vacations and its sister company Trafalgar, visiting 11 and 10 European countries respectively. Each tour has consistently exceeded our expectations for quality, organization, and value. Our Tour Director, Irina, was outstanding — exceptionally knowledgeable, highly organized, approachable, and welcoming. She is truly an asset to the company. The coach driver and local city guides also performed at the highest level, providing insightful commentary on history, culture, cuisine, and personal perspectives. The itinerary was both educational and visually spectacular. Highlights included charming towns and islands, castles, fortresses, boat and ferry crossings, countryside farms, valleys, mountains, lavender fields, grape vineyards, Mediterranean olive groves, and breathtaking coastal scenery. Accommodations were clean and comfortable, meals were plentiful, and hotel staff were consistently helpful and courteous. A note for future travelers: this is an active tour with approximately 3-4 miles of walking per day, plus cobblestone streets, uneven sidewalks, and stairs. Travelers with any mobility limitations should consider this carefully, as the physical demands are significant. That said, the pace was well balanced, with ample free time between arrivals and optional excursions. We returned home with thousands of photos and lasting memories, as well as the camaraderie of fellow travelers from around the world.
