Fantastic trip! All went to plan, was as advertised/described on the listing on TourRadar and was a great itinerary of destinations. Our guide Johanna for the English-speakers was simply amazing: so knowledgeable, friendly, positive and so well organised. It was absolutely worth the money doing an organised tour with the hotels, transport and local guides all arranged for the trip. The other guides on the tour for the Spanish and Japanese speakers, Anita and Katsue, were also brilliant.
Good introductory tour to the Balkans. Need a bus-seat rotation plan to prevent some passengers from hogging the good seats. Choose buses that provide USB charging ports. Avoid less organised hotels where coffee and food runs out, such as in Hotel Marinela in SOFIA and Hotel Panorama in Veliko Tarnovo. Choose hotels that serve breakfast early, at least at 7:00AM, e.g. Panorama in Veliko Tarnovo serves breakfast only at 7:30AM and tour leaves at 8AM, not enough time. Choose hotels that provide express-laundry services as we do not have time to look for laundromats elsewhere. When arriving too early at a city to check-in at hotel, do not waste time unloading bags first, directly go on city tour then come back at check-in time. Maybe reduce a day from Bulgaria or Croatia and add at least a day more in Serbia, which is rich in history. If possible design a new tour to cover all Balkan states and add Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania.
My experience was absolutely exceptional! great food, amazing people, the best guide (Nikos), and i could not have had a better solo travelling experience! I sliced my foot in ios and had to get 5 stitches and my ceo took over and i did not have to worry about transportation or anything and she helped make sure i was comfortable and not in pain. I cannot say enough about nikos, that is a man who loves what he does and has passion for it, it is so obvious and it spreads into his groups! The other travellers were so kind and i met 3 lifelong friends there who we will be meeting up again soon and planning to book another gadventure your. so grateful for my time, made me want to travel more!
I had a fantastic time on the Dubrovnik to Athens G-Adventures tour! The whole trip was great fun, ran smoothly and was completely stress-free. Saw some amazing places which I already want to go back to! Our CEO Ivan was brilliant at looking after and managing the group and was great company for everyone that was part of the tour. Made good friends as well who I'm sure I'll stay in touch with for many years to come.
G adventures did an amazing job planning my trip! It was definitely one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I?m so happy I got to visit my dream countries and meet great people along the way. Thank you to everyone that helped organize it!
If you?re luck enough to have a CEO like Ivan, you?re in for an absolute blinder. A well structured experience with plenty to see and do. A great balance of group time and free time to explore. There?s nights for clubbing and nights for chilling with plenty of travel and sights to see in between.
