We were taken care of from beginning to end. Every day brought new and amazing experiences. We loved visiting local people and learning about their lives. We ate delicious food every day and stayed at amazing hotels. The highlight was Machu Picchu and we are grateful to our travel concierge, who worked tirelessly to make sure that our group made it despite industrial action.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE
It is not a cakewalk but doable with good muscle skeletal condition.
Our tour director, and the local experts (especially at Cusco/Machu Picchu) were excellent. Having the option to visit Machu Picchu in the morning and afternoon made the visit so much better. The sunshine and lack of crowds in the afternoon was amazing but loved seeing it in the morning fog as well. This is my third Luxury Gold trip. On all three of these trips I have found that many meals are too long. A meal that goes beyond 1.5 hours is a bad experience to me. For example, for our last night dinner we had a restaurant to ourselves and although we arrived at 7 pm our main course wasn't served until 9. Many of us had early flights to catch and we weren't back at our hotel until after 10. Again this has happened on all of the LG tours we've taken so it's a common theme. I think it would also be a good idea to explain how much walking may be necessary and common problems to be away of such as the altitude in Peru and the worry about drinking local water. This was something we were aware of but have found that many of our fellow travelers are taken by surprise.
Great tour director, local guides! Packed with many fun, interesting activities!
Excellent guides.!! All of our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful and interesting. Well organized trip. luxury hotels. The itinerary was excellent and we learned a lot about the local culture. I would recommend sending information about the history of the areas we are visiting the night before. Our guide was excellent,Excellent the best of the best!! and he had a lot of things to do to organize our trips but luxury gold as a company could send out emails or text to each individual person about what we’d be seeing the next day to augment our learning and that would elevate your brand. Unfortunately, the food was not the best. Lima has wonderful restaurants and we went to one where they were not prepared for a group. In general, the meals were not up to par. I would rather have fewer meals that were higher quality rather than a lot of food low quality. We loved the shaman and the food prepared by the local people that was excellent, but the restaurants in the cities could’ve been better.
Incredible knowledge displayed by the local tour experts. Our Trip Liaison, was very responsive to our questions and adapted very well when a regional Peruvian flight was changed by the airline at the last minute.
