This 8 day tour is like a whistle stop tour for 7/8 days. Firstly, to clarify, if is not a wine tasting tour but a taste of Italy itself and not its produce ??. It is fairly full on with wake ups at 5.30-6am every morning. You will walk, jump on and off coach and repeat. The tour leader, in particular Shabby who we had comes second to none. Her passion, drive, knowledge is spot on. Caring and considerate to all, she included everyone. She was informative of start times, the days plan of action and had a smile on her face the whole time. Nothing was too much trouble and was always on hand to answer questions and offer support. She is an absolute credit to the tour operator. The tour includes trips to stunning but lesser known towns and villages too which makes this trip really good. Orvieto being one of them and which turned out to be my favourite place. The guided walking tour of Rome on the 1st day was far too much. Too much unnecessary information, very little interaction which made me switch off within half hour of a 3 hour experience. But don't the Vatican tour, pm on the same day was killer. I feel these 2 tours would benefit being on different days. My only other gripe was the hotel we stayed in Rome. Hotel Regent was too far out of town location wise and too outdated for me. It was clean yes, but really old fashioned and worse of all was the fact the toilet and sink basin had a 3" gap between them so you could not do a No. 1 or 2 come to that. ?? Staff are lovely, breakfast was really good, but they do need to some redecoration and the welcome dinner I suggest swerving altogether. The other hotels were good. Other than that everything good. Coach driver Ezio was brilliant, safe, helpful and friendly.
