Spain & Portugal Explorer

This Spain/Portugal tour entailed an extensive amount of time on the bus which I feel could have been improved by eliminating some destinations (eg., Andorra, Obidos, and a winery visit). I'd rather be able to spend more time in the main destinations than spend an hour or two in Andorra which entailed having to double back to the main route afterwards. But our tour leader, Gustavo was very good at keeping things on track. He was very genuine and thoughtful with everyone. He shared with us the history of Portugal more than anywhere else which made it quite interesting.

Gustavo was my tour guide 7 years ago ""Best of Europe"" and I was so happy when the announcement came out for my recent Spain and Portugal tour. Gustavo is the absolute BEST tour guide who goes above and beyond for every single guest. He is very passionate about his job and not many people are as considerate, empathic and kind as he is. A true gem for Expat Explore. Paolo and Joel were our drivers and were also just as helpful, courteous and kind. Wonderful tour and I would absolutely book with Expat again in the future!

Love the Spain itinerary! No other company has this extensive coverage! It is intense, but memorable. The Portugal part was also great. Would like spend more time in Lisbon, considering that the free day usually spent in Sintra. Special thanks to our drivers Julio and Marcio for their hard work and keeping us safe. And, of course, our tour leader Emiliano - he brought so much fun and became real head of the ""family"" - that is how he called us.

Had a great time

This was our 2nd tour with Expat and we were not disappointed. Emilliano was an amazing tour leader, with a great sense of humor. He went out of his way to make our trip a pleasant one. We got to see lots of great towns and had a fantastic mix of fellow travellers.

Had a fun and amazing experience exploring Spain and Portugal with a group of strangers who became friends. It's exhausting but it's all worth the memories!!!

I traveled alone and was assigned 2 different roommates as it was different tours. The program was packed and sometimes was tiring but I would not ask for less. The itinerary was well thought off and planned so would not change anything except to spend more time in Andoora as I felt that was a bit rushed and there was still so much more I wished to see.

Tour leader Pauline Butler went way out of her way to make the tour an enjoyable experience.

If you want to see the highlights of Spain and Portugal in a two-week period, then this tour will definitely achieve that. But if you want to see the country at your own pace and have more time to immerse yourself in the culture, history and atmosphere at each location and explore without a constant time schedule to keep to and a lot of time on the bus, then this tour is not for you. It is a great way to see a lot of places across both countries, but nearly every destination I left I wished I had more time there to explore. I will definitely come back to Spain and Portugal in the future, but next time I will hire a car and do it on my own at my own pace, spending a few quality days in each location. At least now because of this tour I know where to go back to and what I would like to see.

The tour was everything we expected and more, seeing so many places with our fabulous tour leader Emiliano & with the company of Zema for some of the time. They made sure we had a trip to remember with lots of fun times. The drivers were great and everything was well planned and organised. Every place we visited was another fabulous experience and great that we often arrived first thing in the morning before it became too busy.

The tour was well planned and we saw and experienced more than we expected. Punctuality and starting off early was a great advantage for us tourist in many places as we arrived before the crowds came in. The drivers `Nuno and Luiz were very good and so was our tour leader Emiliano. He is charming, funny and very accommodating. In all we had a wonderful experience of Spain and Portugal.

We visited iconic cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Porto, and each destination offered its unique charm and beauty. The local guides provided insightful commentary, giving us a deeper understanding of the history and culture of each place. Overall, my experience on the ESX - 15 Days Tour exceeded all my expectations. The value for money, the well-organized itinerary, and the incredible team of professionals made this journey truly unforgettable. I am thrilled to have had this opportunity and can't wait to book another tour soon.

The first week although exhausting was amazing & our group was like family. The 2nd week was a bit harder with a change in travelers, most of us getting a summer cold/cough & so much walking uphill. However, it was more relaxed as we got to stay a couple days in the same place. Diarmaid was great, funny, patient, accommodating & well informed.
