This one-day, group tour takes you to one of the most beautiful water bodies in the Cusco region. Your day starts early as we pick you up from your hotel at 4:10 am to start this amazing adventure. Drive out of the city to Mollepata, which takes around two hours. This is also where your breakfast and lunch are scheduled today. Resume the journey after breakfast in Mollepata. It takes one more hour to reach Soraypampa. A short break in Soraypampa is followed by a two-hour ascent on foot. Your hike comes to an end high up in the Peruvian Alps, where melting glaciers feed into a glistening, turquoise body of water perched atop a hill. You have approximately 40 minutes to enjoy the beauty of the majestic Humantay Lake, located 4,200 m above sea level, before we start our journey back to Cusco. There are more than one colorful mountains around Cusco. Although not as well known as Vinicunca, Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain is an incredible natural landmark, a mountain splashed with stripes of different colors just like its more famous sibling. Book with us and get the chance to visit this less crowded but equally beautiful alternative to Vinicunca. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Peru early in the morning and drive you south of Cusco. Travel for approximately two hours until you reach Cusipata, where you will have your breakfast. Your journey continues through the Cusco-Puno Road to Combapata, where we will take a detour along the left bank of the Salka River (it is a dirt road from this point on). Enjoy beautiful high Andean landscapes as the journey continues. You might even spot herds of alpaca and llamas if you are lucky. Reach Palccoyo after one more hour on the road. The view of a colorful mountain strikes you right at the parking lot. You have ten minutes to get ready before we start walking. It takes a short, 40-minute hike to reach the main viewpoint from where you can see three colorful mountains as well as a valley swathed in red. Looming in the background is the mighty Ausangate Mountain. You also have the option to take a short, 15-minute walk to the nearby stone forest from where the views are even more impressive. Spend sometime admiring the beauty of the mountains before it is time to return. Take the same route back to Cusipata, where a delicious buffet lunch will be provided. Continue your journey to Cusco with the aim to reach the city by 6:00 pm. We will drop you off at your hotel on arrival in the city.

Qeswachaka Bridge & Four Lagoon Tour: One Day

Book this private, guided tour with us and get the chance to visit four beautiful lagoons as well as a traditional Inca bridge still in operation. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at around 5:00 am and head for the south of Cusco to the district of Quehue. Spend around three hours on road before leaving the vehicle and taking a short walk to see the last Quechua Bridge, Q’eswachaka (also called Queshuachaca). This bridge is built with qoya fibre, a material that is obtained from an autochthonous plant. However, in the past, it was ichu, an altiplánico grass, that was used to make such bridges. The work of renovating and maintaining this bridge is carried our annually by members of the nearby villages who still use it. See the bridge and learn more about its association with the Incas from your tour guide. Upon returning from the bridge, we will take short stops to photograph four beautiful lagoons: Laguna Pomacanchi, Laguna Acopia, Laguna Asnaqocha and Laguna Pampamarca. Your day ends on arrival in Cusco at around 6:00 pm. We will drop you off at your hotel in the city.
