Eight-day journey from historic Rome to the beautiful Amalfi Coast and Sorrento
Guided tours in Rome and Pompeii
Option to visit the enchanting island of Capri
Discover the vibrant spirit of southern Italy on this eight-day tour, traveling from Rome to Sorrento via the enchanting Amalfi Coast. Crafted for those who thrive on moderate-paced discovery, this city sightseeing journey explores ancient ruins, sun-soaked coastlines, and charming hilltop towns.
Begin with Rome’s legendary landmarks and lively street life, then head south to the birthplace of pizza in Naples and the pastel-hued streets of Amalfi. Walk the famous Path of the Lemons, marvel at Pompeii’s archaeological wonders, and enjoy the dramatic views from Ravello’s famed gardens. Ferries along the coast and optional visits to Capri round out the experience.
Combining history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes, this tour package stands out for its dynamic blend of urban excitement and coastal relaxation, perfect for those wanting a taste of Italy’s dolce vita.
This was a great trip and fun group of travellers. Some of the extras were expensive and options would have been good. I feel the transfer offered to/from the airport should be available pre day 1 and after the final day....the transport was expensive and it is something that should be included as the trip costs a lot. It should not make a different if cusomters decide to arrive early or leave late - they only require one transfer each way.
Our trip to Italy was very good. Our tour guide, Manny, was very informative and looked after us very well. The Amalfi coast is beautiful, and the journey from Maiori to Sorrento was very fun (if not a little hair-raising!). Worth doing the optional trip to Capri and using the chair lift to the top of the island for excellent views.
Mani our tour guide was excellent. there were 14 in the group which I think was an ideal size. Mani kept us all all updated with any changes due to disruptions etc. there was only one hotel in Pompeii which was disappointing with shower screen collapsing but it was only for a one night stay but the location was ideal for exploring. Rome was obviously very busy so I think that travelling the end of September was the best time to go and Explore!
There is a lot to see & visit in a short space of time. An extra day or two would be useful, & I wish that I had added time to the end of the trip & been able to visit Herculanium . I did not much like the number of tourists in most places, except for Maiori which was much less busy & that made it so enjoyable. Italy is obviously a busy & popular tourist destination. The tour leader gave us lots of information but did not spend more than the minimum time with the group
Fellow travellers excellent. Sunshine excellent. Your leader OK but she would benefit from being a member of a group with a good tour leader. She knew the history etc of the area but lacked some interpersonal skills. She rarely ate with us or spent any spare time with the group
