I cannot praise our tour leader and my experience of visiting Costa Rica highly enough. The care and attention provided was excellent. The wildlife aspects of the itinerary exceeded expectations. The pace of the trip ensured there was a good balance between activities and relaxation making it well-balanced, a ‘holiday’ as well as a learning opportunity.
Pabel from Condor travel in Peru was a brilliant leader, everything was well organised and Pabel had so much knowledge about the Incas. He looked after us so well. Thank you Pabel.
The tour was great, our tour leader was exceptional. The hotel accommodation was average, some hotels better than others.
An excellent tour - stunning archeological sites and interesting other visits eg Turtle rehabilitation. Extremely knowledgeable guide . Great accommodation - very central.
Ernesto was probably the best tour leader i have toured with. he was humorous, good natured and dealt very competently with everything. A real star tour leader.
Had a fantastic trip - Dean our guide was knowledgeable and approachable and thoroughly good company. The group of sixteen got on well together. The itinerary was excellent with a good balance of guided activities and free time. We covered a lot of ground from city to city but hardly scraped the surface of such a wonderful country - so much more to see and do!
We had a great time in Sotches with Juan. - The walks were scenic - hotel was great. - food amazing - Juan is knowledgeable - Juan and Sonia his wife both share their love of the area, their family and home with us.
The cycling was graded as "easy" and I was pleased that was indeed the case as I had never done a cycling holiday with Explore before. The group of 16 looked rather daunting at first, but we all got on really well together and had good fun, especially all mucking in to make an unexpected barbecue in the grounds of our accommodation. The accommodation was appropriate for the places and areas where we were, and the tour leader organised everything well to see the most interesting places, have good meals and a wine-tasting, and stop for appropriate breaks. The "optional" harder day was the most enjoyable, the beautiful scenery and stunning village of Minerve more than making up for the uphill ride.
