Very busy and informative trip, great brand new coach, excellent tour guide and driver. Free time available if you need it, but you'll run the risk of missing the high lights.
Mention the optionals at the very outset and what the costsaver plan entails .
The itinerary included a lot of experiences, but most were optional experiences. I would be nice if the trip included more experiences that came with the initial cost of the trip.
Rome, Florence and Venice all covered well within 5 days.
Itinerary was excellent. We got to visit Vatican and other sought-after spots and skip the queue. Everything was in order and laid out.
It's Italy, It's and old country, hotels are not like the US, Read your Itinerary, it's accurate. The coach was excellent!
It is perfect if you only have one week! Having two night each in Rome, the Florence area, and Venice helped us feel as if we got to know the area better than if it had been one night in more places. By the middle of the week we were saying, “When we come back…”
The itinerary was great. We visited all the major places we wanted to visit which is exactly what was advertised.
Because we are on a tour, to look for banks and ATMs on our own could be a little bit difficult. It was very useful to find a hotel with an ATM (El Sirio Hotel)!
The itinerary is exactly what you see on the Costsaver website. Make sure you also budget for the "optional extras" as these are an added cost. The website states the optional extras and the prices. I would recommend doing all, if not as many as possible and completely immerse yourself in the experiences. Imagine having to plan a private (with other people on your tour) water taxi down the Grand Canal of Venice, then navigating your way to a private (with other people on your tour) Gondola ride, followed by a boat just for your tour group in Venice... Costsaver does all this for you.
I loved the tour! Our guide and driver were awesome! I do wish there was more evening tour options to see the cities at night. Saw a lot of beautiful sites in a short time. Would recommend going!
Great. Got to see the major highlights
There was a lot of walking and standing. I’f you have issues with mobility I wouldn’t do this tour.
What I liked most about utilizing Costsaver is on top of some shared tours there are several options to add. It is up to you what additional ala carte tours you wish to add.
This itinerary hit all the top spots of Italy, It was a lot of walking, but necessary to see all that is in Italy. The hotels were okay, and not in city center. If that is important to you then this is not the tour for you.
Itinerary was not up to scratch as discussed used in previous section
Good
Had a wonderful experience. Great tour and value for the money. We were hoping for a vacation that hit all the important Italy highlights and did that with more. Dinner at the winery/olive farm in Tuscany was incredible.
It’s a lot to fit into the days you’re there and plenty of walking. All worth it in my opinion.
An important thing to note is that with the lower travel cost you will be staying outside the city center, so it does make it difficult to explore on your own if you don't choose to add on the Optional Experiences. However, the tour was a good way to see the highlights of Italy and not have to worry about the language barrier and transportation logistics. It is a very busy trip though so don't expect a lot of time on the stops/experiences that are scheduled. Our travel director was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and made it a great trip.
Itinerary was great, get ready for lots of walking but very doable. The coach was so comfortable & driver was fantastic we always felt safe . And the Hotels were great with lovely breakfasts & all clean , no complaints here .
They really push you so that you can pack everything in. We would have liked more free time in each city.
the itinerary coach were great. But the hotels and included dinners can be better
As I chose the costsaver option, I did not expect high end hotels, but they were really nice and for the amount of time we were in them, they were perfect. I was super happy with our coach and driver, he was a great driver and super friendly. The itinerary was very fast paced. There was so much to see in a short amount of time. I would have loved to been there longer, but they made sure we saw as much as possible in the time we were there.
The itinerary was great! The only thing I would change is...to add times for the excursions. This way I can see how much free time I have and if I want to book an excursion or not.
As said, the tour director was exceptional, polite, kind, attentive and very pleasant, he did his best to get the coach as close as possible to the places we were visiting so we didnt have to walk too much and gave us information about the tour.
Of course we visited all the major landmarks but what really made this experience special were some of the optional features like dinner in a former gladiator school in Rome, watching artisans perform their crafts in Florence and Murano and a fantastic country dinner at an Tuscan farmhouse. These are activities we likely never would have done without our group. I also can’t stress enough how terrific our guide *Personal details removed by Feefo* was and the skill of our driver *Personal details removed by Feefo* .
This trip, while short, provides an in-depth discovery of much of central Italy: Rome and the Colosseum, Florence and the David, Pizza, Verona, and Venice featuring a glass blowing demonstration and optional tour to Burano for a truly unique dinner. The tour also provides an opportunity for time on your own to explore on one’s own pace or visit sites of personal interest. In my case, I could visit Peggy Guggenheim’s museum ( with instructions on how best to get there by our guide) in Venice and have dinner in Rome at a restaurant recommend by an Italian friend.
This is a budget tour, so the products were average as expected.
This is a whirlwind trip, and I would not recommend it for those who really want to soak up Italy. However, it's a great introduction to all the country has to offer. For me, it was a chance to re-visit happy memories in a short time at a good price. The itinerary takes you to the the iconic places and gives a little time to do some personal exploration.
