I loved the beautiful scenery from beginning to end and enjoyed learning about Spain's history. The group dinners were great for providing merriment and a taste of the local food and vibe. In particular, I loved the dinner at the restaurant with the tenors. I feel this is not something I would have found had I gone on my own. Our guide, Dan, provided a wealth of information and humor. Loved it!

Michelle M.On Oct 3, 2025

Itinerary was at the right pace, allowing us to see as much as possible during the trip. Things ran on time and entries were well organized for quick access. There is no other way to travel, see so much and have cultural experiences!

AnonymousOn Sep 30, 2025

As the title says "It's highlights", so you will see a lot, but won't have much time for free time or shop unless you skip the extra optional excursions. Hotels are not centrally located so not within short walking distance of popular squares, etc. May require your own transpositions. Wish insight could do better job of finding more centrally located hotels.

Well run itinerary. Chad did great! However, I should not have signed up for it. Was not my cup of tea. Regimented schedules are not my fort.

AnonymousOn Sep 29, 2025

It is “packed” - not in a bad way. We took all the optional excursions (which were great) and my wife complained about not much time to shop. This is not a complaint - it is just jam packed. But - we saw a lot, which was the goal.

AnonymousOn Sep 28, 2025

Very hectic, covered too many venues, with a time limit at each place, Definitely not a tour for older people. Tour director and driver were kind and considerate, listening and helpful constantly, Food was not always the best at the set menu restaurants, eg paella with only choice of chicken or rabbit, Flamenco boring, story hard to understand and too long Hotels all excellent with generous breakfast selections and service

AnonymousOn Sep 28, 2025

We really missed entering The Familia Sagrada. This needs to be corrected.

Too much coach time

Lucille S.On Sep 27, 2025

Very much on the go. We chose to do every tour and excursion. It might be a little too much for some people. The overnights in the hotels were challenging when we had a full day and then had to have everything outside our door at 7 AM.

AnonymousOn Sep 26, 2025

It covers many highlights of Spain, not all but with only 8-9 days, we did a lot!

AnonymousOn Sep 26, 2025

Not a relaxing vacation. You get to see a lot. But if you want to have some chill time not much.

AnonymousOn Sep 21, 2025

It covered all the main sites & cities.

LPOn Sep 20, 2025

We had an amazing Tour Director, which made the trip more enjoyable. The food was good, accommodation good and loved the varied optional tours. If you want to see southern Spain I would recommend this tour.

AnonymousOn Sep 19, 2025

I was very happy with the places visited, tour director and local guides. It was a lot to cover in such a short time, and would probably prefer to do a tour seeing the same places but spread over a few more days as I felt very rushed at times after spending a full day on the bus, arriving in a location and then having a very short time ( an hour) to get to room, receive luggage, get changed and back on the bus.It would have been nice to have a little more down time, but again,I understand it was the choice of length of tour and itinerary chosen

“A Tapestry of Culture & History" amazing itinerary, every place had a story. Great TD, extremely caring, professional and knowledgeable. She made the trip more memorable with all the details, such as keeping us fully informed, detailed in her explanations, showed such passion for her job and towards us. I would definitely recommend this tour and .

Good overview of southern Spain. Well organized tours and good guides. However, a real miss in Valencia by not staying a second night to allow participants to actually visit the arts and sciences buildings which could easily occupy a full day. Need to rethink various bathroom stops along the long drives. A few were in incredibly disgusting condition and continuing to stop there just means no repairs or changes to bathroom facilities will ever be made.

Hits all the highlights of southern Spain but some long days on bus.

Beautiful historical places. Good food. Good pace.

William B.On Aug 25, 2025

The Highlights of Spain shows a good cross section of current Spain and its history. The tour is organised and competently run by the tour director. The bus is modern and comfortable. The hotels are an excellent choice.

Rodney D.On Aug 25, 2025

Great trip to learn about the history of Spain Big country and drives between cities are long, but fantastically comfortable buses and frequent rest stops Really loved this trip and was a great guide It was also really great to have local expert guides at many of the sites Only 28 people on the trip… got to know them all well

As a first-time experience with Insight Vacations, I enjoyed the experience but wish I would have received the information on the optional experiences much sooner in the reservation process. I did not even know there was going to be an offer of optional experiences until after I made the reservations. Did I miss something or was there just an expectation that I would understand that there are optional experiences. Since I was paying for 3 people, it tripled the cost of these experiences so having an earlier notification would have been very helpful. We did all but one of the experiences for this trip and enjoyed almost all of them. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and gave great history. We loved . She was an amazing Tour Director in every way!! The starting itinerary was great and most of the optional experiences were also very fun. Anything from the work of Gaudi was amazing! All of the cathedrals were also amazing. I would have loved more time to walk around the Plaza America. The food was amazing and the hotels were perfect! I was not as excited about the Olympic Drive - although the view was very nice (Barcelona). I also was not that excited about the cooking demonstration we had in Valencia but did enjoy the shopping there. Loved the Flamienco class and show as well as the Opera and dinner we went to. Truly a taste of the culture in Spain. Please also keep the trip to Toledo. We really enjoyed that as well. Thank you for an amazing vacation.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Journey Through Spain to Remember! The Highlights of Spain tour with Insight Vacations exceeded all of our expectations. From the stunning architecture and rich history, to the mouthwatering food, vibrant entertainment, and seamless itinerary—this trip offered a little bit of everything. But what truly makes the experience unforgettable is the guide who brings it all to life. We were so fortunate to have an incredible guide who made each day meaningful, informative, and fun. This trip is truly what you make of it. If you go in with an open heart, ready to meet people from around the world and embrace the journey, it becomes so much more than a vacation—it becomes a shared experience filled with connection, laughter, and wonder. We had an amazing time and created memories that will stay with us forever. If you’re thinking about taking this trip—do it, and lean all the way in. — and

Good coverage of a number of cities. The food and accommodation were very good, as was the entertainment arranged. The Tour Guide was excellent but local guides not so good. The terrain was rough and there was a lot of walking. It was quite tiring g at times. . It would be best to do this Tour in Doting or Autumn. It is very rigorous in Summer

AnonymousOn Jul 11, 2025

Extremely well organized in every aspect.

AnonymousOn Jul 9, 2025

It was an aggressive itinerary if one opted for all of the optional excursions. That said, they were all worth it. Can’t say enough good things about our Tour Director, Driver, and all of the Local Experts.

The indepth experience of history, culture and cuisine was certainly appreciated. Excellent drivers and very attentive Tour director was bonus.

Francis K.On Jun 24, 2025

The itinerary as per the name of the tour did provide an insight into the culture, history and cuisine of the the places we visited. The optionals simply added to the experience and should be recommended.

AnonymousOn Jun 23, 2025

Very fast paced tour. Vania, our tour director was amazing! If you don't go early and/or stay late and also do the optionals, you see very little of Barcelona or Madrid. Hotels in Barcelona and Madrid were great but not in the city center, which Insight uses as a selling point. You needed to take public transportation or taxi to get to the heart of the tourist area for both cities. If you do the tour I recommend to stay somewhere closer for pre and post nights. Included dinner that was a hotel buffet was poor. Loved that it wasn't church overload and the churches that we were taken to were all different and unique. Overall a quick but good intro to Spain.

Bert M.On Jun 22, 2025

The Highlights of Spain itinerary was great. Got to see highlights of multiple cities in 1 - 2 days each. If you are OK with somewhat faster pace, then this is a great itinerary to see multiple places and an abundance of cathedrals, scenic spots. 2 nights in Barcelona, 1 night in Valencia, 1 night in Granada, 2 nights in Seville, 2 nights in Madrid. We saw 2 or 3 classic spots in each place every day (this includes the extra optional experiences that my group paid for). If you do not sign up for optional experiences, the trip provides plenty of time for solo exploration before or after the main activity of the day. Although it was fast-paced, the tour was very accommodating for older visitors. Our tour guide, and our driver were extremely accommodating and attentive to all of our needs - checking in on us if we did not feel well and making sure we did not get lost. All around, it was an incredible experience and we felt very taken care of and safe.

Includes a lot of cities in southern and mid-Spain. Accentuates the atmosphere and culture of each city. Includes a great Flamenco show in Sevilla, Alhambra in Granada (a MUST), La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona (another MUST), a great day tour to Toledo and time in Peninsula (also well-spent). Montserrat is an optional trip, but you won't want to miss it. Would have liked more time visiting the Science museum in Valencia, and more time in Madrid. Recommend making Valencia 2 days and another day in Madrid. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable and kept everything moving smoothly. Our local guides were wonderful, and provided great details about their cities. We went in May and the weather was gorgeous. I recommend it.

Fantastic tour director (). Very good local guides. As for the tour itself, it doesn’t allow much time to get the feel of any of the many cities it includes. But that’s the nature of the tour - to see as many of the great things to see in Spain as possible in one week.

Karen L.On May 30, 2025

There is a lot to see. But we would tour a sight and then leave right after the guided tour. I would like to have some time after the tour to look around on my own to see some of the things that were skimmed over or skipped all together.

It was quite the pace but we saw everything we wanted to see and as described in the itinerary. Our tour director Phillippe was amazing! A true professional.

Barry B.On May 27, 2025

It covers the South and center of Spain, but not the North. North part is covered in a separate tour.

AnonymousOn May 27, 2025

Monserrat and Toledo are offered as options. As a former Tour Manager, I feel they should be included in the tour not as an option. For the guests who chose not to buy these additional trips, there was nothing for them to do in the area around the hotels.

I thought the itinerary was excellent. It truly did hit the highlights of the country and the local guides were particularly good. As usual, our tour guide and driver were excellent. Shout out to and . Just be prepared for lots of walking which is to be expected. Only the hotel in Madrid was a bit of a disappointment, not terrible but not up to Insight's usual high standard. All in all a really great trip.
