This was a really enjoyable trip. My e-bike was the best I've ever had (thanks Miguel!) and ideal for the terrain. The scenery was interesting and varied, we cycled on mainly quiet roads and tracks, and it was great to be away from tourist hotspots. I can't speak too highly of Miguel. He's a lovely guy, very well organised while making it all look easy, and he did all he could to make our trip a safe and enjoyable one. He worked hard to make sure we all had a good time and took us to some fantastic restaurants where the food was delicious and excellent value. The area has an interesting history and I thought the balance was just right between hearing about it without feeling overburdened with information. 100% recommend!
The Murcia tour was a good cycling itinerary through mostly rural Spain. Miguel was an excellent guide and gave generously of his time. The areas visited had few tourists which was nice but also resulted in fewer options for dining. We were rained out of our first day of cycling which is unavoidable, but I think spending the first day visiting Murcia would have been more interesting than Caravaca and would have not disrupted the flow of the trip.
A good portion of the cycling was on secondary roads, our guide had good knowledge of the best routes to take to avoid busy roads. I enjoyed the picnic lunches, a nice alternative to restaurant lunches.
behaviour was a very kind and caring with the far too much caution for me. I had difficulty understanding his highly accent English.I frustrated myself with him, stopping far too often to describe the next few metres or kilometre of the planned route. So challenging for me andunnecessary another in the group agreed. The terrain was very dull for at least a third of the trip and unfortunately rain cancelled the first day of cycling and we were somewhat wet the morning of the second day. Can’t help the weather!
This is a really lovely trip. Murcia is a beautiful, interesting and peaceful part of Spain with very few tourists. We got to experience it on a carefully planned and scenic route, mainly on quiet roads and tracks - but even in (slightly) busier places, traffic is respectful of cyclists. (The bikes are robust and well-maintained, although quite heavy.) Repeating other reviews, Miguel is an excellent tour leader. Warm, engaged and organised, he goes above and beyond to take care of everything (including making sure I had a vegetarian meal at every restaurant – the food is great btw!), while staying relaxed and making it look easy (we know it’s not…). He was also able to tell us plenty about the region’s past and present, which adds to the experience of spending time there. 100% recommend!
