We had a great time . Itinerary was packed with sights and adventures. Our guide and driver were excellent. our guide went above and beyond.
This was an amazing trip and gave us so much information to the culture of Spain and Portugal. The architecture was stunning. We made friends to last a lifetime.
Absolutely enjoyed the Great Iberian Cities tour. The Tour Director, was excellent and no doubt, added to our groups enjoyment on this tour! We were initially scheduled to start the tour stay at the Exe Cristal Palace Hotel, which appeared comfortable to accommodate (3 adults). The hotel was changed to the Barcelona Sants Hotel at last minute. Myself and two other friends had decided to share accommodations on this tour. Unfortunately, the Barcelona Sants hotel room was small, and could not accommodate three separate twin beds, with room in between each of them. Our luggage did not fit (no place to put it and/or open properly). Washroom area was open-concept, which did not provide much privacy. We had to pay an additional $200 each to upgrade to a larger room. This was outside of what we budgeted. A family (2parents/child), may have worked; however; for (3) adult women, it was definitely not suitable. I would suggest Trafalgar Tours consider the clients booking/accommodations prior to changing venues (especially, if changing tour hotels), to ensure no issues arise for the travellers who booked/paid for the tour already. It creates a lot of stress for the traveller(s), with sudden changes that do not take into account their room accommodation needs.
Tour covered some wonderful places with Pmenty to do, but also time to relax & enjoy the places we stayed st
Itinerary great. Our driver and travel guide were the best ever. Unfortunately since I have mobility issues found both Spain and Portugal not accessible friendly especially the hotels. The last hotel we stayed in was the worst and would never stay there again or recommend it. The buffet was mediocre, staff not the friendliness or accommodating and the room was terrible asked for a more accessible room but was refused even though it was requested a week prior. The ideal hotel room for accessible for 2 people would be 2 sinks, walk in shower with handicap bars (a must) and a bit wider aisles to accommodate walkers/wheelchair, 2 night tables and larger elevators would help.. I realize of course these hotels were built sometime ago but some of these suggestions could still be made. My group did have some difficulty communicating with staff, we thought they would speak more English, at times we did use a translator we had on our phone so we got buy just fine. All in all it was a great trip.
Highlights were Opera night with singing waiters, Flamingo and Fado plus Toledo and the Black Madonna at Montserrat. Our tour guide was excellent- very knowledgeable, articulate and caring. Our group was incredible compatible and we had great fun together.
The travel connections to, and from Spain and Portugal or seamless. Our driver and tour guide were excellent. My only complaint if you will was that at some of the dinners, the food was not very good, especially when we went to the Hacienda.
I had a great trip with a small group of 15 people. The tour flowed, no lining up or waiting for people. Everyone got along well, I travelled with some lovely people. In the 9 days we saw a lot of the history of Spain and Portugal. We visited many famous landmarks which were the highlight of our trip. Our tour guide and others were amazing. They were all very knowledgeable, helpful and very easy to get along with. I would book another tour with Trafalgar if was our tour guide. Thank you for an awesome trip
