Thomas picked us up at our hotel promptly at 9 am and by the end of our trip he was part of the group. We didnt want to leave him. He not only gives you a private tour of Ronda, but also told us about Spain in general and their customs. He took us a scenic route to Ronda and a different Way home so we could see the country making several stops along the way back. For lunch he lead us to a beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view! He made us feel completely comfortable and at ease and never rushed! Ware so glad we spent the day in Ronda seeing the breathtaking views! This tour is fantastic!

Itinerary

Ever wondered what secrets lie within the cliffside town of Ronda? This private day trip from Malaga or Marbella invites you to uncover one of Spain’s oldest cities, rich in dramatic scenery and layered history. Begin your tour with a comfortable pickup at your hotel, apartment, or the Malaga cruise terminal at 9:00 am. As you journey through the picturesque Andalusian countryside, marvel at the whitewashed villages dotting the rolling hills—a visual treat before you even reach your destination.

Upon arrival in Ronda, the awe-inspiring El Tajo Gorge instantly captures your attention, dividing the town between its ancient and more contemporary quarters. Cross the famed Puente Nuevo Bridge, an architectural marvel that offers sweeping views of the chasm below. Your knowledgeable guide leads you into the heart of Ronda, beginning with the inviting Plaza de Espana. Here, delve into sacred spaces like the Church of St Mary the Elder and the Church of the Holy Spirit, each narrating centuries of religious and cultural evolution.

Ronda’s storied traditions come alive at the Plaza de Toros, Spain’s oldest bullring. Visit the adjoining museum, where bullfighting artifacts illuminate the town’s enduring place in Spanish heritage. The journey continues to the remarkably preserved Arab Baths—dating back to the 13th century, they stand as the country’s best surviving example of Moorish bathhouses.

Trace the old city walls and main gate, absorbing tales of Ronda’s Islamic past before stepping into the Palacio de Mondragon. Once the residence of Moorish royalty and later Spanish monarchs, the palace now houses a municipal museum and showcases exquisite gardens. Throughout your tour, your guide shares fascinating insights, offering a deeper appreciation for Ronda’s cultural mosaic.

The itinerary also highlights serene corners like the Jardines de Cuenca, perched atop the Tajo for breathtaking vistas of the city and countryside. If time permits, you’re free to wander Ronda’s winding streets at your own pace, soaking up the ambiance of this ancient town.

This tour is ideal for travelers eager for immersive sightseeing and seamless logistics. The unique selling point is the blend of historical depth and stunning natural landmarks, all experienced in the comfort of a private trip tailored to your schedule. After a day rich with discovery, your driver returns you to your accommodation, ensuring a memorable and effortless escape into Andalusia’s timeless beauty.
