Experience

20 years

I grew up in a tiny little village northeast of Kathmandu. The village is on the traditional route to Mount Everest, where Sir Edmund Hillary would have passed by on his epic 1953 journey. There is something about being born in the high Himalayas that keeps the traditional lifestyle and culture of the remote lands of Nepal very close to my heart. When I was young, there was no secondary school in my village, so I would walk three hours every day just to go to school. At the time, I didn’t know that walking is also called ‘trekking’. Walking several hours every day, hiking up and down in the hilly region of Nepal was just a normal daily activity for me. Because there were not many educated people in my village, our school employed teachers from different parts of Nepal. I had an opportunity to learn about their home villages, which made me keen to visit and explore different parts of Nepal. After I came to Kathmandu to continue my studies, I started a career in travel and trekking. I started as just a trekking porter and guide, and now I have my own business! I would be pleased to help you plan a memorable holiday in my beautiful country.

Dil's Expertise

I specialize in services for travellers to Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. I can share logical guidelines to plan your leisure or adventure holiday. I can help with all types of activities, be it cultural experiences, pilgrimage tours, honeymoon packages, hiking, trekking, climbing, expeditions, safari, rafting and basically anything else offered in the Himalayan region! I also specialise in organizing and leading groups.

Dil's Best Travel Experience

When I first came to Kathmandu, I met so many tourists who came to Nepal to go trekking. I knew that the tourists hired guides and porters from trekking agencies, so I decided to ask one guide I knew if I could join on his next trip. He took me on as a porter, and this was the first stage of my experience in the travel industry. We went to Annapurna Base Camp and trekked for 14 days. It was an amazing experience. I’ll never forget the experience of carrying 35 kilograms for 14 days!

Why is Dil the right travel expert

I have over 20 years of experience, having started as a trekking porter, then a trekking guide, and then running my own trekking and travel company. I personally can guarantee a high standard of all services to fit each client’s interest. I have explored most of the destinations myself, and I also know how important it is to have the flexibility to personalize a trip. Therefore, I can advise on any modifications to help you personalize your trip. I combine knowledge, personal service and fair pricing as part of our service to you. It’s no wonder that our clients repeat our service. They know that they will get the best possible service and prices when they return to us!
